Not too surprised to see Charlotte go this week. Maybe she's not worst overall, but she was definitely pretty bad this week. And I do agree than Brendan doesn't do his partners any favours...in dancing or personality!
Not that Charlotte didn't give it a great go, it's just that some people take to it and some don't and I don't think she'll ever take to dancing. Simon is probably on par with her ability-wise, but his routines, especially this week, are usually more fun and memorable (in many ways!).

Brendan is a fantastic dancer but I've never really heard a less able celeb praise his choreography. If he'd got a Gemma/Mollie/Alex level girl he may have been okay but anyone less and we know what happens.
I don't think he'd have got half as much out of Susan as Kevin has for instance.

Didn’t Charlotte seriously mess up the dance off? Or was I seeing things?

So despite the leaderboard madness, no shock dance-off - apparently it was Simon v Brian, with all the judges voting to save Simon.
I'm quite sad - they're both rubbish dancers so I have no issue with them being in the dance-off, but Brian was a lot more entertaining than Simon and I would rather have had him in the Halloween show next week!

And yet Ruth lasts another week. It's madness.

And yet Ruth lasts another week. It's madness. She may at least be entertaining next week though, or at least Anton's Halloween costume will be... I agree though, she needs to go, as does Simon. After that it becomes much more difficult to rank the lower end of the table.

Oh that's a disappointment. Both of them are a bit rubbish (bless) but Brian was brilliantly entertaining in the way that stompy Simon isn't. Brian has the real 'showman' about him, and while I agree his time was limited I'd have off'd both Simon and Ruth before him.
(I don't mind a bit of Ruth, but I think it's just my affection for Anton that keeps me putting up with her)

Yeah, Brian needs to go but for Halloween show which I usually hate anyway, I agree Brian would have been better.

Don't forget that through Sunday Brunch that Simon has a HUGE following and I guess the general public can see how hard he's trying.
He know he's not going to win but there is currently a campaign to get him to Blackpool.
That's not to say that a celebrity that has proven to date to be a better dancer may have a really bad week and find themselves in the dance off. It's happened in the past.

What a dreadful show. A few notable exceptions apart, there were some awful pieces of choreography. The worst being Kevin's mess. Totally dreadful.
Debbie was great but I thought there was a lot of faffing. But when she danced, she was great.
I am not sorry to see the end of Simon. He was beyond the limit of his ability.
However the worst choreography was Kevin's. Just so ill judged. Should have been enough to see them bottom two but sadly not.
The rumba might not have had the right steps but it was a fantastic dance. And plenty of six pack!
I also loved Alijaz's look. Totally magnetic.
Glad to see the end of this theme week. Has to be the worst they have done.

On Sunday Brunch Guest Michaela Strachan just said to Simon Rimmer pointedly “so if you DO go out tonight did you have a great time?.”
He replied equally pointedly “”I’m having the best time”.
What a bitch to do that on live tv.

Think it was time he went, especially as last night wasn't a great dance for him. But what a bitch Michaela.

She’s spent the morning being “honest” and quite patronising. Maybe working with that tosser Chris Packham has rubbed off.
Stick with watching otters, or whatever it is you do, love.

Very pleased that he went. He really couldn’t dance. Whatever he was doing wasn’t entertaining to watch. He must have worn the most unflattering outfits ever in the history of Strictly... You could see he wasn’t an easy shape to dress, but they could have toned down the Toad of Toad Hall look week in week out. I don’t follow him in “real life” but am aware he’s a TV chef. I won’t miss his dances next week, I’m afraid, and I certainly won’t miss seeing where he keeps his Jersey Royals. Debbie or Aston to win...?

I think the final four will be Aston, Alexandra, Debbie and either Gemma or Joe. Hard to say how it'll go after that. Gemma does seem to have a lot of support and could be the dark horse.

I’m not up to speed with why Chris Packham could or couldn’t be a tosser to be honest, but I caught a BBC programme about him earlier this week where he talked openly about his Asperger’s. It made for interesting, and very sad, viewing. I didn’t see him in a negative light before, but I do see him in a very different light now.

Can we tone down the condescending sexism, please? And 'tosser' and 'bitch' don't have much of a place on here either tbh.

Mollie vs Aston, Aston out
Not sad to see his smug face go, and no more him getting praise for what he has basically been doing for years instead of actually doing the traditional dance moves

Blimey - that is a shock result.
Aston is the better dancer - he may be doing his own thing but Mollie has offered nothing more than mediocre.

Why would anyone save Mollie? She's horrendous. Ah well, she'll be in the dance off again next week. Must've signed up for the tour, so they're keeping her in.

Apart from her little stumble i thought Mollie was the better dancer tonight and if they really do just base it on the dance off then Aston deserves to go.
Its Jeanette's fault for giving him that 70's story to that style of dance.

I haven’t watched yet but the result seems pretty shocking. What did he do, stand still?

He did a Viennese Waltz to a Michael Jackson track - whilst wearing 70s clothing and a bad afro wig. Totally wrong styling - and the dance had very little flow.

Oh. Sounds terrible. Daresay he lost the grannies' vote. I’ll have a look tomorrow morning. Thanks for the info.
