Yes, so sad & far too young. I can remember watching on TV both when she, memorably, lost and, finally, won Wimbledon.

Heard the news broke this morning and was stunned.
Saw picture of Jana on the 6pm news and reminded how nice and beautiful she was and was saddened.

And all of the tributes from players past and present all say that (aside from her considerable achievements) she was kind, funny, warm and a delight to be around which, when so many people say the same thing must mean that it was true. And in the end, that's the most wonderful thing to be remembered for.

The tickets I have mean I was unlikely to see Murray but it's still a shame he has pulled out though understandable given how long he was out injured.
Hard to see past Federer or Nadal for the men's but lots of intrigue on the women's side with about 8 players with a good chance.

Mmmmm would have watched Wimbledon World Cup matches if Andy was playing, no reason to watch now.
Andy done the right thing in pulling out, obviously he hasn’t recovered from a major hip injury and if he had he was well short of match fitness, so in no condition for Wimbledon. Needs to recuperate and play some ATP matches to get his fitness up and aim for Wimbledon next year.

I love Wimbledon! It’s a shame that Murray won’t be playing but probably the right choice for him long term. I’m a big fan of Nadal but not sure on his chance of winning since grass isn’t his best surface. Would be nice actually to see a surprise winner. I’m keeping an eye on Cilic after Queens and think Denis Shapovalov will be a future winner one day.

I greatly admire Murray, but I really think it is time he retired gracefully rather than beating himself up physically to try to get back into major competitions following his recent hip surgery. He has been there, done that and got the T-Shirt, as well as plenty of trophies and gold medals and a knighthood!
He could retire now and become a coach or a pundit and join the likes of McEnroe and Navratilova who still play in 'oldies' matches and continue to earn money and remain in the public eye commentating or coaching while enjoying his family life more.
I just don't see why he needs to go on because, as a relatively late starter, he is unlikely to match the longevity records of his colleagues like Nadal and Federer, so what is he now trying to achieve other than a few more years trying to keep up with younger and stronger players in better physical condition?

I think it was the Duchess of Kent who once said that the highlight of Wimbledon nowadays was the sight of Grigor Dimitrov changing his shirt half way through a rest break on a hot day and really who am I to argue with royalty?

I seem to remember Tim Henman has done a bit of commentating and at least he had some anecdotes to tell about the legends he has played against. |

Roger Federer is out, Wimbledon is over.
This year has had more drama than the tournament has seen in years, so I don't understand why anyone is begging for more!
