Apparently this is a thing! Dream cast? Might not be beyond the realms of possibility that some from the RAH Concert might be considered. Maybe Josh Groban would be tempted back to Broadway next year, schedule permitting? Adam Pascal? Maybe even Idina? Or completely new people!

Did think it was time for a large scale revival of this, particularly with the current US/Russia climate. And no, I say go new and fresh with it.

I was just discussing this with friends.
Tam Mutu as Anatoly and Ramin Karimloo as Freddy. NOT Sierra Boggess as Florence.
Maybe a Kerry Ellis or Rachel Tucker type. I'm afraid it'll have to be an Elphaba-type. Jackie Burns? Carmen Cusak? Yes, actually. Carmen Cusack.
I doubt Groban will be doing it again. I think he seriously managed to come up with a new image for himself in his debut in a EDM show-- where we really didn't expect him to end up for his Broadway debut. Smart man.

If this does happen I doubt ENO's production will take place which was also slated for next year. Or could it transfer direct from the Coliseum?

This would be fabulous but all I ask is that they keep Idina Menzel as far away from this as possible. If not, I will storm the stage while she murders 'Nobody's Side' Every. Single. Night.

I know Raul Esparza was doing the workshop of this a few months back...no word on if he's involved in the actual production.
Anyway I love this hot mess so I'm SO here for this.

Doesn't she only do Original Musicals? I know she did the RAH concert, but i thought that was an exception? Either way they're working on a movie of this now too - so the timing seems odd to develop both at the exact same time? |
