With the extension announcement I can finally see this show 🙌 My husband would however HATE to be picked on - what seats would you recommend with a good view but no chance of being singled out? Oh and he's 6'5 so leg room/an aisle seat would be preferable I’d suggest row E or F, nice and central! Prime Steve position. (otherwise anywhere else and row A legroom is not good - perhaps an aisle seat a few rows back)

It was ALWs plan for TOP to be a new work venue. Was it ever Bill Kenwrights stated plan? The studio does have new work in. Also aren't theatre ticket sales sluggish everywhere so launching something new is probably even more risky than before. Alternatively something else might have fallen through and this is easy to extend.

I thought the whole point of TOP was to try out new shows…… I mean I guess that was the point when ALW owned it...now it's a Kenwright venue I guess we should expect nothing less. Blood Brothers soon I'm sure

I felt sure someone on here had already announced that the return of Be More Chill was planned next for when Heathers had closed.
Not that I’m expecting Heathers to close anytime soon.
I’d think that Blood Brothers was too big a show for the venue. The only other option I can think of would be for BK to bring some of his touring plays in.

There was talk of Eugenius coming back, I’m sure they’ve teased it on Instagram, and I always assumed if it came back it would just go back into TOP? Heathers probably a safer bet though.

I mean if heathers is bringing in a nice steady income for TOP then whats the point in risking it with something new that could sink faster than the titanic??

Ailsa (Veronica) will be departing the show on September 4th. She has honestly been an outstanding Veronica to watch and it’ll leave some big shoes to fill in the role. Ailsa portrayal of this character has been iconic and quite literally beautiful. With stunning vocals and insanely talented acting to match it’s been a privilege to see her grow within this role. Vicki (Ms Flemming) will also be leaving on August 7th before she heads off to join the cast of Mrs Doubtfire. Again Vicki has been incredible in the role with amazing improve skills for the ‘Steve’ part she has often left me in stitches from laughing so much. Brilliant comedic timing and again big shoes to fill. Both these departures mean that after September 4th there will be no original cast member of this run left! Be interesting to see who will be joining with the extended run announcement.

I just hope Ms Fletcher isn't going to return to the role of veronica. it would be nice to have a fresh face like Ailsa, she has been absolutely amazing such a breath of fresh air. Will be sad to see vicki leave the role of Ms fleming but excited to see her and Tom in Mrs Doubtfire.

There’s no reason that she would return; it’s just somebody having a dig for no good reason.

was there tonight after miraculously grabbing a front row today tix rush seat .. it clearly works well in TheOP so I can see why they’re keeping it for longer cast is great, Ailsa for Elphaba ?!! with the green lighting on her I see it Steve was called out and was fine with it, however Suzanne’s reaction was painful Thought that the comments on here about pre-notifying potential victims was slightly ridiculous but it really should be done .. has anyone then chosen walked out after the spotlight before? The wife really was not happy

It does confuse me as to why they filmed it with essentially a B grade cast... Six bought back the Original Queens for the ProShot, and by and large this is what Heathers should have done...

The whole show hangs on a great Veronica, and Ailsa Davidson is the best yet. I can’t really see it getting better without maybe a better set and bringing back Becky Locks Fleming?

Most of the original London cast would surely look too old now (particularly on film). This doesn't really matter for Six but it would for playing high school kids. Also what danb said - Ailsa is easily the best Veronica we've had, in no way a 'B grade' cast. I might personally have liked to swap out two of the Heathers for their predecessors, but then I'm into dream casting territory.
I'm really pleased Ailsa had this opportunity and wasn't shoved aside for the better known CHF, personally. She's wonderful and absolutely deserves it.

I think the biggest tragedy is the fact that it’s Simon Gordon as JD who is being showcased for the proshot. He is by far the weakest principle JD the show has had. Jacob Fowler or Ben Karran act and sing the role a million times better than Simon who isn’t the least bit convincing in my opinion.

For me, the 'lightning in a bottle' of this show was Carrie, Jamie, Jodie/Sophie/T'Shan, Becky Lock, Jenny O'Leary The moment to capture it (to me) was then - I just don't think the current cast warrant the recording personally.

For me, the phrase ‘B grade cast’ was a bit offensive.
We can have favourites and opinions but how we express them is the difference. Patching in a group of 30+ yr old Heathers with the current youth in the cast would have been too jarring.

I suspect they'll hold back the UK release for a while as this is still playing.
Some of the cast choices are interesting, but what works well on film isn't always the same as what plays well on stage. I must admit though, I would rather Ben's JD had been captured (in an official sense, I know there are plenty of unofficial recordings doing the rounds).
