I'm team Simon, I think the hair is wrong for Jamie.

If it's Jamie I will be very surprised but I'm like Alison on team Simon

I've flipped to thinking Simon also. Going to be a lot of disappointed fans on Instagram all excited thinking Jamie though!

I thought it looked more like Jamie but someone on this board said Simon was set to take over from Jacob back when the new cast was announced so it probably is Simon.

I'm not convinced it's either of them from that video, but this might just be designed to throw us off the scent. The Other Palace cast has been slowly turning into the tour cast though!

I'm 90% sure it's not Jamie because he's in the new Van Gogh musical workshops that's happening in April

I managed to front row Rush for the 1pm show yesterday. Before that, just to confirm they do occasionally get a complete cast on, as I managed to see everyone the previous week, although not yesterday as we had Hannah Lowther as Heather McNamara.
It is a real shame that Jacob has left, as he and Alysa are perfect together. With that said, I will look forward to seeing Simon.
Jacob did have a bit of fun yesterday, slipping in at the back as a student in a loud shirt for the party scene. He was also rather watery eyed at the 1pm show, so I don't know how he would have got through the 5pm show. He did the stage lap at the end with Alysa throwing kisses to everyone.
In a neat touch, they've made the audience involvement much more inclusive. Recently, I saw Vicki (as Ms Fleming) select Steve and Sharon in the audience. Yesterday, she just selected her lover Susan (who turned out to have a wonderful singing voice). So perhaps, going forward, the gender choice for the audience participant will be much more open.
I think Jacob has a bright future ahead of him, but who knows if he will be back as Standby JD as some point, like so many others?

The Susan from the 1pm was Kayleigh McKnight who was previously in the cast as ensemble/cover Veronica! The evening show also had a Susan for Shine a Light. I went to both shows yesterday as I am a massive fan of Jacob and the evening show was highly emotional. Standing ovation for him in Freeze Your Brain and Seventeen and lots of tears at the end. I will be gutted if that genuinely was his last time playing JD as he has been fantastic and is so incredibly talented.

I thought she was an actor and I recognised her, but couldn't immediately place her. And standing ovations for Jacob were well deserved. Wish I could have attended in the evening but I had a prior commitment. It is such a shame really that we only know how talented Jacob is due to the unfortunate situation with Freddie.

Caught Hannah Lowther on TikTok live earlier today and she said that she gets an extra £30 per show when she covers Heather Mac! Thought it was interesting! Understudy pay is a normal thing, ensemble members get a set fee per week for covering and then an extra fee every time they go on. So if someone is covering 2 or 3 tracks, and is regularly on, sometimes they can take home an extra 250+ a week if they’re lucky. This is made up by ‘docking’ the lead (paying sick pay rather than full show pay) and capped for the understudy a lot of the time though - so if they’re on for a full week they wouldn’t get the full 8x30.

Interesting! I’d never really thought about it before. I was surprised at the amount though, I thought it would be more

I went to see this for the first time ever tonight and was wondering were there sound problems or is the sound on The Other Palace production generally not the best? I was in row C but really struggled to hear a lot of the dialogue and all of the cast's voice's were very quiet throughout, other than the big belts.
The show started 20 mins late, so maybe they had some tech issues? Thought someone on here might have the answer!
That being said, the cast were all really strong but Madison Firth stole the show for me - what a voice! Alisa Davidson was great vocally too, but I found her accent a bit dodgy at times to be completely honest. I thought Tom Scanlon really stood out as ram as well as he was genuinely funny.
Overall it's a really good show, but I don't think I would see it again just because I found some of the subject matter a bit triggering, especially the suicide themes (Totally my problem and not the show's!).

The entire sound department are ill, so the Sound Number 1 from "Dreamboats and Petticoats" had to go in at the last minute and mix it on the fly. You nearly didn't have a show at all tonight.

Is this really true? Kudos to them for pulling it together if so! There were a couple of awkward moments during 'Beautiful' where some ensemble member's mics weren't on and I'm not sure if the cast realised, so the jokes they were making didn't land as we couldn't hear them! During 'Shine a light' there was a moment where Vicki Lee Taylor said something that was really inaudible and a girl next to me whispered really loudly to her friend 'What the f*ck is she saying?', which I found very rude!

When Christina Bennington was Veronica in the West End, it was mentioned a few times she was the victim of awful direction, as she was OTT in her portrayal of Veronica.
However, seeing her videos pop up on TikTok regularly, I do wonder if it was a personal choice - there is always a 'cheeky wink',a smirk and exaggerated facial expressions in her videos.

In a strange turn of events, Hannah Lowther is on as Heather Duke this evening. Looks like they are down a lot of cast today, with Mary-Jean Caldwell also going on for Martha Dunnstock. I’d love to be at tonight’s show!👀

I’d love to be at tonight’s show!👀 Making Heathers history! First person to play all 3 heathers. Her work ethic is something to be admired and she's an icon. But they also shouldn't be in this situation. Said it before, say it again, if Heathers is going up until September they need swings/standbys.

I’d love to be at tonight’s show!👀 Does that also mean May was covering the entire female ensemble? They've taken the first two weeks of the new cast (3rd-19th May) entirely off sale. Perhaps planning to rehearse an entirely new cast (hopefully with swings!)

People had already purchased tickets for those shows now off sale/cancelled and to my knowledge have not heard anything about it yet. Cast change is only a week half away so should be an announcement soon
