Although unlikely, I'm hoping Jodie Steele transfers with it. If she doesn't who do we think will replace her? Given the Rock of Ages tour starts on September 20th and runs through to July 2019, it is quite a sizeable chunk of the tour she'd have to miss to do Heathers, which makes me think she almost definitely won't transfer. Amy Ross did it in the original Other Palace workshop, but she's on tour with Wicked, so it'd have to be someone new. I'd love to see Ashleigh Gray get it because it'd mean all three of my favourite Elphabas had played Heather Duke. She played a school age character in Vanities in 2016 so she could definitely still do it, and has the vocals for it too. This also explains Paul Taylor Mills weird statement regarding the prices and Carrie. He's not putting on that big a show, but they have to be able to afford the transfer somehow! What statement was this? |

I’ve decided that I’m definitely going to book for this this time and was going to go for the £45 tickets but can’t decide which are best. After looking at Theatremonkey’s website and photos on SeatPlan I think the sides of the royal circle look better because Row V in the stalls seems really really far back. I’m also wondering if forking out the extra £10 for a £55 seat will be a better value for my money though. Any advice from boarders who have been to Haymarket a lot? Thanks as always.

Really happy to see this transfer as I hadn't have a chance to see it at The Other Palace. Just booked my ticket for late October. Haven't been to the Theatre Royal, Haymarket before so that's another bonus for me  |

This is totally insane. Sorry to say it, but they have been swept away by the massive enthusiasm of a relatively small amount of hard-core fans. Totally fascinated to see how this survives in the current cut-throat climate of the West End where even the long runners are struggling to shift £25 tickets. Haven't seen quite such a reactionary transfer since Spring Awakening... The rush of the transfer does feel a lot like spring awakening, but this is a limited run and has a name of sorts. It’ll be interesting to see how it does. I’m happy to be able to go back. |

I had the off-Broadway cast recording for a over a year now so and like most of my other cast recordings they are on random play on my phone for my commute.
As previously mentioned in my review of the show, it’s one of the reasons that I went.
Today I have had songs from Heathers going through my head all morning and as I am not in a position to physically put my ear phones in at work, I’m making my own words up.

So as well as seeing their transfer announcement, I did also see the actual show which was completely new to me.
What a unbelievably colossal overhyped disappointm- no I'm kidding this was great! I appreciate it was a different production but I cant believe this show never made it to Broadway. There's such enormous amounts of energy, the songs are on the whole quite good, the story works whilst being completely nuts, and I actually, out loud, laughed. I laughed several times. All the cast pulled it off. The screaming audience members (and lets not pretend it's just teenagers, the woman to the far right of the front row clearly left her teenage years in the 80s and she was whooping and hollering as much as any CHF fan) were altogether a bit much for me but even they couldn't spoil the show. I'm glad to see it having a go in the West End, even if it is off the back of a Youtube-obsessing audience, if it's giving a wider audience the chance to see a genuinely fun and genuinely good piece of musical theatre.

I've just seen the announcement on Carrie-s channel. Bless her for saying it was an exclusive and they were the first to hear when we all knew whilst the show was going on, so they were the last to find out. The reaction of the audience was hilarious, mainly the two teenage girls in the front row who, upon hearing the news, can be seen hugging like they had just won the lottery.

Me too I'm booking. But only so that I can slag off Carrie Hope Springs Eternal and state that I never thought it should have transferred. I would say that it's also to look down on the screaming fangirls but I do that as a matter of course anyway so I'd get nothing new from this experience.
Now where did I store my old school uniform?

So I'm reserving judgement until I see it in about a week or so..but, is it just me or is this seriously hyped? For what could be quite a good show, but I am struggling to find what could justify the attention this show is enjoying. Good for them, I suppose, and whatever. But..interesting.

It's fun, but it isn't near ready for the West End, IMHO. Well it was considerably better/more enjoyable than many supposedly W/E ready shows I’ve endured...Out of the Blue...Martin Guerre...Prisoner Cell Block H...Fame...Chicago for a good % of it’s life. If all it needs is a few more ensemble and another set of gym windows to fill the stage then I think we’ll be onto a winner. Yes it will run out of audience quickly, but if it turns up on tkts over the Summer it will gain a load more fans. |

I think the hype has mainly stemmed from Carrie's fangirls, but then they have realised that its a decent musical too so now the whole thing has become popular with the younger generation. But I believe, wasn't the Off-Broadway production really hyped up? Maybe its not so much to do with Carrie and more to do with these younger fans going time and time again, causing the buzz? |

The workshops last year were extremely popular and sold out within the day, I believe. Without any casting announced. I believe this is a show held in the hearts of many cult fans.

In a very genuine way, what do people want to see developed about the show? To me it seemed as "ready for the West End" as the likes of Hairspray which did very well in a vaguely similar genre of musical theatre. I didn't really get the sense of an underdeveloped show, which you see so commonly on the West End stage anyway from all sorts of other shows.
Separately, I don't really see the relevance of the current attendees not being around for the original film, I wasn't alive then, I'm not a CHF fangirl, and I had a great time.

I was born 4 years after this film came out, I have never seen the film. I am not a CHF fan but I still really enjoyed the show.
Similarly I don't get the "Ready for the west end" chat? Set wise maybe its a bit simple but with an off Broadway run, a workshop and a run at TOP this is as ready as it ever will be. |

I mean most of us weren't around when 'Brief Encounter' was first in cinemas, but many of us enjoyed that at the theatre. Similarly I was the Lion King generation of kids, but you couldn't pay me to sit through that on stage again...

Not clueless at all - I mean I don't have all the specific answers but The Other Palace is classed as an Off-West End Theatre. Not sure whether it's due to capacity or if it's to due with being a mainstream or commercial theatre or something else. I mean it was Off-West End when it was the St James, not sure if it's changed now! |
