Tomorrow evening I'm going to a concert at somewhere called Brasserie Zedel, just off Piccadilly Cirus, which I understand is a restaurant as well as a concert venue. Has anyone been to any concerts there before & can advise on how long beforehand is a suitable time to arrive? I gather the seating is unreserved so usually I'd arrive early at somewhere with unreserved seating but because this is a restaurant I'm worried that there won't be anywhere to wait. Thanks in advance for any information.

I went to see Tim Flavin there. The cabaret room is separate from the bar and restaurant but on the same level in the basement. It's a smallish cabaret room so if you want to be at the front maybe get there early. You can wait in the lobby area or have a drink in the bar. Small cabaret tables with chairs around them. Found the chairs uncomfortable but i have a big bum.

Thanks for the information alece10. I don't drink so I guess I'll be hanging around in the lobby. I'm glad to hear they have a lobby.

There's a little cafe as you enter too so you could sit there. Go down first and explore though just to get your bearings. It really is a beautiful venue.

Seating is unreserved but you will be allocated a sat by the staff when you arrive. I don't think they take time of arrival into account. It is a lovely venue though.

I too don't drink downstair however as alec10 had described, it cabaret style seating and quite a beautiful and imitate venue.

It's a lovely venue and even the back is close with a great view! I've been on my own, another who doesn't drink, and felt totally comfortable there with a soft drink before the show so go and have fun

The back is better as there's an aisle in front of the back lot of tables so it's a clear view and more space. They'll fill in spaces with people on their own (there will probably be quite a few) - last time I was there I ended up sitting with Rachel Tucker's family and chatting with them during the interval of her gig! Plus Rachel wandered through the audience and interacted with everyone, so there wasn't really a bad seat!

Last time I went (on my own) I was expecting just that, especially as I'd booked one of the last available tickets. But to my pleasant surprise, I was seated on a fantastic table (obviously sharing with others) - I think as a solo they slot you in where they can, so it will always be pot luck, but not always a disappointing outcome. Good luck!

I've just arrived, half an hour early, and am about half-way back so not too bad, though I'm right by the bar so I hope they don't serve drinks while the singing is going on.

I'm seeing Rachel in June, but I've never been to this venue before (granted, I can't even remember ever seeing it, and I'm around Picadilly Circus every week). Random question, do you get physical tickets when you arrive? On my confirmation email, it says to just quote your reference number? SaveSave

Have to say I'm really not a fan of this venue. Noise from outside in the lobby/light when latecomers come in due to only a single set of doors, noise from the bar, overpriced refreshments and average-at-best service. Would only return if there was someone I was desperate to see.

Yes, they just had a list they were ticking people off on. I thought it was a nice venue. I nipped out to the loo (lovely loos!) about 10 mins before it started & came back to find someone else was in my seat so I explained to the staff & got re-seated a bit further forwards & away from the bar, which I preferred. The concert was very enjoyable. ETA daniel The above wasn't intended as a riposte to your post. I had already written it before I saw yours.

I quite like the venue, but agree with peoples gripes. Unreserved seating always stresses me out so arrived there early to be guaranteed a good seat but then you get shown to an allocated seat.... BUT yes it is a small venue and there are no bad seats as such.
Service isn't great, took a long while for drinks to arrive, noisy and light from outside, and when the bill came we had someone elses nibbles on it! But the venue really is stunning and would definitely go again!

I didn't have any refreshments so I avoided any of those problems that others seem to have had. The only time I noticed noise & light from outside was when performers were swapping over, as there were too many of them to be all in the room at once, but as that was always done between songs it didn't interrupt the actual performances.

Does anyone know the seating capacity for the cabaret venue? I'm just curious how many seats there are. It looks and sounds like it could be similar to The Other Palace studio space?

I don't know what the studio space is like since it was taken over but I would say, based on how it used to be, a similar size. But there is no balcony bit like at The Other Palace. Just as cramped and similar size stage.

I saw the wonderful Rachel Parris here a few months back, beautiful little cabaret venue. I agree with the no drinks policy though, asked for a Diet Coke, thought I misread the bill when it came it was so high!
