Well. Now I know there's lots of fans out there for the star of 'Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown', Willemijn Verkaik, so you may be pleased to know that she's doing a concert on 31st July 2017 at the Cambridge Theatre. Get your tickets quick. You all know how that show sold out when it was in London. Smashing. link

Just got an eMail from Stage Entertainment announcing that Willemijn has been cast as Molly in the German production of Ghost opening in December in Berlin.
I'm happy for her to land a new lead role, but isn't she a tad old for Molly?

For me it's not her age in general but more the pairing of her and Alexander Klaws. To me she looks a tad too old next to him - at least going by the promotional photo they've published. But I doubt I'll see this production so I'll leave actual judgment to those who give the show a shot. :-)

So... Molly will lose her son? Younger brother?
If I happen to be in Berlin (might be) and happen to snag a cheap-ish ticket (rather not) and have absolutely nothing better to do, I might actually go and see it. But then again, the leads are most likely playing only three or four shows a week anyway, so with my luck, I'd miss them anyway.

I don't think they look too mismatched. Patrick Swizzle was about 10 years older than Demi Moore so they've just switched it around and Willie is the cougar. To be honest no-one is keeping an eye on that clay. I sense a floppy pot coming.

I love a bit of Willemijn but what ridiculous casting, she is way too old to be playing the young lover alongside her counterpart, and the younger lover aspect who have hot sex on a couch was one of the hottest parts of the show! I wish they would of given this opportunity to someone age appropiate to play the role.
Also, you really would think Willemijn is the only female actress in Germany, considering she seems to be the only one who gets cast in major musicals!

I wish they would of given this opportunity to someone age appropiate to play the role. I agree. Someone like . . . oh I don't know . . . got it! Someone like Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud would be fabulous! Seriously though. Old ladies can be sexy too. Look at Helen Mirren. Willie is only 42. Alexander is 34. They can still have hot rumpy on a sofa. It might just take them a bit longer to get up again. And really it's no different to 36 year old Rachel Tucker playing university student Elphaba.
