You smear by misrepresentation of a comment, not for the first time. I said I was unfamiliar with King's College London, not that I have never heard of it. I said this in direct response to Snicole's immediately preceding post in which she talked of being familiar with it, in the sense of ability to find one's way around to get to the specific room for the talk. |

I went to this earlier and was disappointed www.kcl.ac.uk/artshums/ahri/eventrecords/2015-2016/LSC/Digital-Shakespeare-.aspxIt started 10 mins late. Many attendees had attended the earlier event and stayed in their seats so even though I was there early, many seats were already taken The speaker himself spent far too long explaining the history of libraries and library classification systems (which I'm not 100% sure of the relevance) so there wasn't enough time left to talk about the interesting stuff. 3/10 from me. I'm going to the New Hamlet event tomorrow so hope that one is better. |

 So I managed to push my way to the front (I got there far too early but apparently 400 tickets had been given away for 250 seats!) It was a really interesting talk, SRB is a funny, warm and clearly knowledgeable man. I am not really someone who has read around Shakespeare so it was all new to me plus it has made me want to put Troilus and Cressida on my to see list. |

Ok we really need identifying badges, Snciole from this photo you must have been just a few along from me, I was there so early that I arrived for the previous one and there were crowds of people quaffing wine and me trying to look like I was in the right place whilst not being sure if I was. I did look round and wonder if anyone was from here but couldn't quite face accosting people and saying 'are you from the board' in case they just looked at me as if I was mad.
Interesting and informative talk, SRB very easy to listen to and rather sold the RSC projection Ariel thing for the tempest, it sounded much more grounded as the equivalent modern version of 'effects' that had been practised in theatres for centuries and less like a gimmick which I been considering it.

I was the manic one in a red dress and glasses wandering around trying to get the Cloud wifi to work! I am usually more sedate.
I didn't stay for the free wine as I was worried I might drunkenly ask SRB to hand over Alex Jennings' phone number.

I didn't stay for the free wine as I was worried I might drunkely ask SRB to hand over Alex Jennings' phone number. I even wondered half heartedly if that was you, something to do with both being there very early, I clearly should have loudly board name dropped and seen if you'd reacted. For some time there was just me and an elderly couple who were rowing about a 'her' so the arrival of other people was something of a relief. I stuck to apple juice but still then couldn't find my way out and had to scout the building until I found someone to follow. |

I'm glad I didn't bother now, not that I don't love SRB but my trains were non-existent so would have to have driven and couldn't face the prospect of maybe not getting in. Am sure it was fab. |

His plays are "done" in London time after time, year in year out. I am aware his plays are done year in year out and see some of them myself. The point I am making is try and organise and potential stakeholders get together, here I am think Globe, National, RSC at the Barbican, Almedia, Arcola, Old Vic, Young Vic, Donmar Warehouse, Open Air and even small places like Greenwich theatre and of course commercial West End theatre and do the whole canon of his plays in the same year. youncould have joint advertising for publicity and turn this into an must see event. |

It was a really interesting and entertaining talk; was grabbed by the fact that SRB expressed an interest in playing Shylock. As an aside, I didn't understand the laughter when he said he junior doc nephew was on strike...
Missed the rowing couple, alas.

I am clearly shy too You're too kind though honesty makes me admit that I had just re dyed all my white hair that morning. I get a bit carried away with the cold and always approach clothing with regards to how many pockets things have or if they're water proof, my family continually look perplexed when I go to theatre and am not 'dressed up' as they consider I should be. Abby where were you? What a fail on my part for missing both of you. |

Yes, SRB mentioned this at the talk. He will be doing Timon in Athens. He seemed delighted with the £600 fee and to be flown to Athens (who wouldn't!?) but mentioned this version is different from the one used at the NT. |

Just booked for the BFI's 'Shakespeare on Stage, Screen and Elswehere' with Ian McKellen, and the screening of Richard III with a McKellen Q & A afterwards - I'm surprised there were any tickets left for either, usually when an actor even remotely famous appears at the BFI, the tickets have already gone to BFI Champions or sell out in seconds. Also booked to see Made In Britain with a Q&A with Tim Roth, and The Firm (the Gary Oldman one, not Tom Cruise) with Phil Davis, so not a bad morning (not sure if my bank account will agree on that though)
