Comment on whether you thought the nudity was necessary or not by all means, but there is absolutely no need to make personal insults on people's nude appearances. It isn't the actors' job or choice to warn the audience and therefore they shouldn't be the ones being ridiculed by you.

Surely even you can see the difference between commenting that the nudity isn't needed and making negative comments about the actresses body?
That's just as unnecessary as you think the nudity is in the first place.

Do you believe in using rational thinking at all or is that a foreign concept to you? I don't need to see the play. It could be the worst play on earth with the worst acting and the most unappealing nudity but I still wouldn't come home and think it was time to delve into everything I disliked about the nude bodies of the actors that are performing for me.

I don't care what you think, I care about what you post.
The line of what is right and wrong stretches far beyond what is legal and illegal.

And again if you had just said you thought the nudity unnecessary that would have been fine but you didn't did you.

Just read page one on this thread by mistake, from back in February. It explains the previous page perfectly, however.

Just read page one on this thread by mistake, from back in February. It explains the previous page perfectly, however. I had forgotten that page And now it seems as if she planned the nudity all along She seems better at that Than she does at acting anyway Perhaps she can move a few streets down And into a different sort of venue It might be a massive success for her

There's something unbelievably narcissistic in the way that you seem to equate your personal taste with an objective measure other people's intentions:
You don't like the actors, or decide that they're too old to show skin, and therefore they must simply be getting their kit off as a crutch to hide the lack of artistic merit. It couldn't be that your subjective view of whether or not this was necessary is separate from the actor and directors reasons for including it in the first place.?
Believe it or not, the intentions behind people's actions can't simply be determined based on whether we like what they do or not.

There is no artistic value and no talent
Demonstrated
Anywhere in this production
The nudity proves this
And grossly magnifies the shortcomings and deficiencies

With that comment, your using a Daily Mail quote about how revealing an actresses' clothing was at a red carpet event as a way of implying a lack of artistic integrity, and the phrasing that "it seems as if she planned the nudity all along" I get the feeling that we just have very different views on the issue of nudity in theatre. That's fine, but I suppose that means there isn't really a common ground upon which to have a discussion.

I have no issue with nudity in any other production I have seen Numerous over the last 2 decades Never once was I distracted or was affronted Here it is because it has been added to make up for other deficiencies Was I so annoyed

I tried so hard not to read far enough back to have to comment...but no.
Artistic criticism is fine. Of course the production may be terrible, the acting terrible the production terrible (I don't know, and I'm probably not going to see it so can't pass comment). You can even think nudity is 'unnecessary' to the production/story- that again is a valid comment on an artistic choice.
What isn't valid is making nasty comments about the bodies of the actors involved. Particularly on a whether a woman's body should or shouldn't be 'seen' on stage in that manner. Disgusting.

Criticism was on Male and female nudity in this staging Don't try and play the feminist card What is disgusting is the BBC paying women half the amount to do the same job as male counterparts I bet you didn't label that as disgusting The play is presented a "steamy scorching oppressive play with sexual tension" according to the young vic website The nudity was supposed to be purely there in a sexual context And is subject to analysis if it incongruous to the intention Ironically The comments in the play made by the playwright himself via Big Papa about Big Mama and her size and appearance Raised plenty of laughs from the audience How disgusting

But I will play a feminist card if you like- it IS a feminist issue. Now to be fair in this instance you were equally disgusting about the male actor, but saying that a woman's breasts were too old to be seen is very much a feminist issue.
And I think if you look above male posters have also done so.
And I did and have labelled the BBC gender pay gap as disgusting. But that's not the discussion here (I think you'll find that thread in General Discussion, dear)

The nudity was presented in a sexualised context and was protracted and unnecessary In this respect perhaps the audience are also supposed to feel seduced by the male and femal nudity onstage to heighten the tension Given the context It failed And I was left to comment on what I saw It if had been done properly and worked in context Perhaps I would not have been distracted by the actual assets I am not blind so I can say what I see Which is subjective

Parsley raises a fair and valid point that you shouldn't go to see a show to be titulated, to make up for poor directing choices. I have seen a lot of nudity on stage over the years and I am not prudish, but expect when the director opts to use this, it's necessary and relevant to the show, not just the production, a good example of this was Sarah Kane's Cleansed, at the National - which had a lot of full frontal nudity, but it was in context with the piece.
Nothing worse will lie with the critics and seasoned theatr goers - if a faded Hollywood Star gets her kit off, this will come across as desperate and one last throw of the dice.
