I saw a NT Live encore tonight and here there are some thoughts (based only on the broadcast version, not the actually play on stage). I liked Sienna Miller, she came actress very well on camera, her Maggie was not just sensual, but very smart too. I thought the best performance was delivered by Colm Meaney, whose Big Daddy was surprisingly warm and his tyranny reduced to the minimum. Lisa Palfrey was also very good, and Brian Gleeson has the gingerest beard I have ever seen. I strongly disliked Jack O'Connell: Brick should have a "fallen prince" quality, a former promising boy going through a horrible time. People like Adrian Lester, Benjamin Walker and, most of all, Paul Newman carried this noble aura that not even grief and alcoholism could fully spoil. O'Connell looks and sounds exactly like an ex-convict, not for a minute I believed that he came from the same well-to-do background of the other members of his family. He seemed to come from a worse social background than Maggie actually. It's a very long play and - unpopular opinion - I think the movie (as censored as it is) manages to be more incisive; the direction was okay, some moments better than others, nudity was unnecessary but not totally unjustified. I liked, didn't love it, but still ways better than the awful TV movie with Jessica Lange and Tommy Lee Jones.

Is there a way to watch the NT filmed performance? In Broadway HD or a similar site?
Can't find it anywhere, and I've been looking for months.
