It sounds too much like Bee Gees number from the 70s.
Also, can I encourage people to not entertain the idea of self-hairdressing. I've ended up with something resembling the drunk Tom Hardy style, but without all the physical attribute to compensate. I look like a lop-sided haystack.

I haven't tackled the scissors yet, but look like Grayson Perry (as currently seen on his art programme on Channel 4). Desperately in need of colour, cut, conditioning, everything really. I could (and probably will) trim my fringe and sides, but am afraid of ending up with a mullet!

Having had a long, hot walk I came here to relax and unwind, only to find that GAMES (grr!) are bidding to take over the General Chat section. I've already stopped looking at Musicals and Plays because to me it's pointless while there are none (I know others feel otherwise; that's simply my view); now I might have to give up on the board altogether for the duration. Seriously, while we're all entitled to our personal preferences, is there no-one who shares my loathing of games, puzzles, quizzes etc? I don't normally loathe games and quizzes, but am also not a fan of the sudden proliferation of the 'A to Z' games on the board. But then again - I guess people enjoy them, so I shouldn't be a grump simply because I cannot relate. Someone in a tree, I don't know the story, but am sending a big hug your way, just in case you need it. My day is a bit like the weather today: it could use some sunshine (in any shape or form).

Also, can I encourage people to not entertain the idea of self-hairdressing. Someone at work mentioned the Flowbee. It's a device you attach to a vacuum cleaner and it cuts your hair. It sounds like a joke invention but apparently it works and has sold quite well. (Whether it works well enough for you to go outdoors afterwards I couldn't say.)

Just Googled Flowbee, 4½ Stars on Amazon and sold out. Concept is weird but seems to work for those brave enough to try.
Given up on the hair at the moment and just comb it back over my head, at some point it will be long enough at the sides and at least will give the opportunity for a new look whenever the hairdressers are allowed to reopen.

"Stay alert" makes me picture people looking around like meerkats who have heard an unexpected noise. That's how I felt going for a walk this morning. It's the first time I've been beyond our road since the lockdown began. Went out at 5.20am in the hope of avoiding people & it worked, as we only had to dodge one jogger. However I was constantly on the lookout just in case & I said to my mother when we were nearly back home that I felt like a meerkat on the watch! Thinking about trying another crack of dawn walk tomorrow but now worried that people will be flooding out after this afternoon's news.

The Flowbee! Well, this is entertaining, for a product review ...

I love how that Flowbee video has a load of recent comments on it even though it was posted in 2012. I guess loads of people are searching for information about haircutting these days.

Managers where I volunteer are forever telling us that they've arranged a "fun" quiz for us with a small prize as an incentive. No, it is not fun, it's infantilising and I will always do my best anyway; I don't need to be offered a supposed incentive. Oh the horror lol. Make it a game as to which threads you must avoid clicking on. Oops. Another game. My bad.

Finished Normal People last night and I can't say how much it's energised my ideas and writing. It's difficult to say something is perfect but this is a magnificent creation, imo. I must have spent 4 hours this morning staring into a tree outside the window here only pondering multiple level power shifts. If there is any emotional energy left I might move onto character development later. It's a mighty work.
So, together with pondering the outstanding structural achievements of another BBC drama Giri/Haji, I should have a good week!
Just keep those damn planes away ..

Also read somewhere that if a breathless jogger I read one doctor saying he gives runners 10 feet of room! I am concerned that it will fall out and I voiced my concern a few times in the past and was denied the larger cones as I wasn't ordering the big portion of ice. In this situation, instead of the larger cone, I request a cup AND the cone. I can then use the cup as an ice-cream safety net. (Of course, in Cornwall, nothing can save your ice cream if a seagull wants it!)

Anyone know where to find the David Attenborough bite size geography videos please for home schooling? On the phone I can't find a way of searching and looking through every school level and subject is not proving very productive.

With rain forecast for the rest of the week in my part of the States (sigh), I'm up on the ladder digging out all the whirligigs that the neighbor's trees send out on expedition the past week or so. The quantity is truly amazing. I try to look at them with the joy that I did as a child, but as a homeowner, they are honestly just an annual pain to clean up.

As far as I can tell from a good rummage on the laptop, they haven't aired yet .. we're in week 4 of a 14-week programme, so still to come I imagine.

This feels like an historic day in London, lets hope it all goes through; front page of The Guardian (as was): Large areas of London to be made car-free as lockdown eased
Mayor Sadiq Khan says city needs to be repurposed for people as it emerges from coronavirus restrictions
Even at borough level, my own road is going to be largely repurposed. We've tried for years to get this achieved and in just a matter of a very few weeks ... Includes two bridges closing to vehicles. London-wide, people have campaigned decades for this moment. Fingers crossed

But for someone like me who has mobility issues and needs to use a car, but who is (thankfully) not bad enough for a blue badge, it isn’t always good news.

East London and there has been an effort to stop cars in our borough. So for example, I can’t drive to my GP any more as the road is now part pedestrianised, and it is now a controlled parking zone meaning I cannot park there. So instead of 5 mins in the car, I now have to walk to the bus stop, take a bus, and then walk to the GP which is another 10 mins with my stick. I also cannot drive and park at the other end of my road as it’s in a different controlled parking zone and I can only get a permit for my very small one. People like me with intermittent mobility issues are never catered for. If you don’t have a blue badge there is nothing you can do.

I didn't know that - you're caught in between. Now you mention it a neighbour of mine is in a similar position with public transport. Difficult to know what's for the best but I wish you well

But as I'm not a driver it doesn't affect me. In fact, my road is partially pedestranised now and its made a huge difference to the area. But I can totally understand where you are coming from.

Although I don't think takeaways were ever required to close, the local chip shop has just reopened under new ownership, so I bought a bag on my way home from the park. 🍟 It would have been rude not too!
They were right nice. 😋
