Feeling rather blue today - currently having some health issues, and god bless the NHS I have a scan in 10 days, but my anxiety is currently through the roof at the possible outcome of that scan (which may be very serious, or could on the other hand be nothing to worry about!) and I am struggling to bear the thought that it will be like this for the next 10 days... Sorry, this seemed like the only place I could just vent. Hope you manage to cope ok...it’s horrible dreading things isn’t it. Do come and vent on here, we are all here to try and cheer each other up (or at least provide support) Be kind to yourself *big hug* Scans are brilliant of course being able to pinpoint the problem and enable the docs to deal with it but o boy are they scary! Take someone long with you, poster J, to wait with you and for you and to take you out for a coffee afterwards. Don’t do it on your own. And keep us posted.

Going cruising. Back 29th November (if I survive the Bay of Biscay & Morocco!). Hoping to meet some of @theatremonkey's relatives in Gibraltar! Oh dear. Waiting is always the worst bit for anything like that, I think.

Feeling for you @poster J I know what that waiting is like. I'm glad you feel able to share here, i think we do care about one another in spite of our theatrical differences and this should be a safe space. I've certainly found it easier sometimes to say something here than in the complexities of day to day life. So please do let us know how you are doing.

I've been in a bit of a funk and can't put my finger on why. A quick flutter of the debit card has eased it somewhat, not least as it includes a hot date with Tamara Rojo (the ENB 70th Anniversary Gala at yer Coliseum), and also Hamilton (first time caller!)
Annoyingly, my mouth hasn't fully recovered from the Wednesday tooth apocalypse yet. Maybe that's it.

ENB 70th Anniversary Gala I'm not going to suggest great minds think alike, but I booked for the Northern Ballet 50th Anniversary Gala just minutes ago. My bank balance is beginning to regret my growing interest in ballet! After charging me a £3 booking fee, Leeds Grand then wanted to charge me £1 for postage, £5 for a drink, £2.50 for an ice cream, recommended ticket insurance at £1.50...and then had the cheek to suggest I'd like to make a £3 donation.

Exactly the same experience, they must use the same website template! I can't find any way around the pricing so it's a rare treat for me Enjoy the 50th!

Cruise about to leave Rotterdam to spend the next 2 days going through the Bay of Biscay from Portugal. The captain has just spent several minutes giving us far more details over the tannoy than I want to know about the gale force 8 winds & more than 2.5m waves we'll to be getting. This is not helping my anxiety! Several past cruises have indicated I don't appear to suffer from seasickness but I worry so much that I might that I feel sick from the anxiety instead!
Also, seen in Rotterdam today:

Steer clear of them and keep your bag shut is all I'm saying... Yes, I don't fancy little furry paws in my bag or trying to climb on me!

Of course I may die in the Bay of Biscay first & never make it to Gibraltar! If not of roughness then of boredom, because my phone signal's going to go soon & then I'll be internetless until Oporto on Thursday. #firstworldproblems

Disappointed that I didn’t receive any Singles Day cards.
Saw a few mentions of Singles Day in my timelines and on investigation found a day specifically for all us singletons.
For a change this is a Chinese import, for some reason the day is celebrated on the 11th Mar in the U.K. and therefore will let this year slip.

I had an email from Groupon with special discount for singles day on deals including mud chamber for two (no idea), Italian meal for two etc..there were others, admittedly, but it didn't seem well considered!

Yes, that's the ship. We're just coming in Lisbon. Today was supposed to be Oporto but that got cancelled. When we did a similar cruise 4 years ago both Gibraltar & Santiago di Compostella got cancelled so they'd better not cancel them again this time or I'll be furious! In better news, there was a Musical Theatre quiz the night before last & I won it! My score was only 12/15 so I'm sure if any other board members had been there I wouldn't have won.

Today, quite by chance, I have been in York on Prince Charles' birthday. So the first time in my long and eventful life, I have seen first hand, and most definitely heard, a 21 gun salute.
When, afterwards, the band of the Coldstream Guards played the national anthem, all us men respectfully removed our flat caps. We do things proper in Yorkshire!
Thankfully, the one verse version of our anthem is short; brass monkeys it were.

ETA Don't know why this is showing 2 tweets when I only wanted the second one nor why the photo is showing up sideways.

Watched God's own Country on 4od, good film, somewhat distracted by Josh O@connor's spotless coat that somehow makes it through lambing sessions, dealing with the cows and never once gets snagged on a barb wire fence, don't know how he managed it. Cleanliness aside worth watching.

If The Florida Projects is still on there, it's lovely, well worth a watch.

Went to see Last Christmas at the cinema today (release date a bit earlier in my opinion). I thought it was both good and a bit rubbish! Too much is given away in the trailer. Can't help but think there could have been a better film in there with this cast and soundtrack.

I saw it on Saturday. Bit lowbrow, but I enjoyed it, as I expected I would and though Curzon advertised it, they are only showing it in Oxford so for the umpteenth time lately, I had to pay to see a film with a different chain. So thank goodness for cheap tix with Vue. Agree that the release does seem a little early for a Xmas-related film but perhaps the distributors wanted (or expected to need) a long run-in to build word-of-mouth? Very healthy attendance for a late morning showing though not surprisingly, mainly female.
