It's my Birthday (I know I don't look that old) but the big news is that my Mother got me (wait for a it) a Colin the Caterpillar cake from M&S. That's the stuff of actual childhood dreams. Happy Birthday Em. |

Happy birthday. I always thought those caterpillar cakes were meant to be the Very Hungry Caterpillar & I've never heard of Colin the Caterpillar. Evidently my caterpillar knowledge is out of date! |

Oh wow feeling the love this morning! thanks all. I have't actually cracked into old Colin yet haha I did play a round of mini golf and got two holes in one (oof!)

Collapsed drain under house. No functioning shower or bath (the water just comes back up the toilet). No flushing toilet. Two insurance companies arguing the toss over who is responsible for which bit of the claim. I've had better days.

Spent a fascinating evening on a guided "Bat Watching Walk" in my local park last night. We saw two cricket and a table tennis... no, we didn't, but I had to get the line in before anyone else did. And none from Hell either. Did see 3 species, and learned the three major ideas we all have about bats are totally wrong! First, they can see as well as we can - no "blind as a bat." Second, they hear on totally different frequencies to us, so couldn't care less about the 100 strong crowd who turned out. Third, they don't sleep upside down if they have a choice. All they want is safety, so they hide in crevices where possible, lying any way that fits and protects them. For a mere £1 donation to the local Wildlife Trust, total bargain of a trip . Took my kids on bat walks a couple of times when they were children. Very interesting. |

I was on a way to an important meeting today and I loved how "Work of Art" from Everybody's Talking About Jamie made me feel. I was confidently strutting through town.

Urgh. Bad day in 'the office'. New department, trained over a few months but had last couple of weeks out in a different dept and dropped back in yesterday. Morning went fine and then this afternoon a couple of bits completely fell apart (deliberately being non-specific). The hushed conversations afterwards driving my paranoia and self depreciation into the ground. Know I wont sleep tonight now reliving the situation over and over in my head. Gotta go back and do it all over tomorrow.

Last time I had what you have, Em, Ibuprofen fixed it right up.
