Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask some general theatre advice for my trip next week. I've been to London on theatre trips quite a few times, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I already have tickets for Harry Potter parts 1 and 2, Promises Promises at Southwark, and She Loves Me at the Menier. I'm looking at the below shows to do day seats (or Friday rush at the NT) and I only have 3 available slots-
Half a Sixpense Dreamgirls The Dresser An Inspector Calls
I'd also like to see Hedda Gabler at the National, but I've not enjoyed any other productions van Hove has directed and I already have a ticket to the NT Live screening in a few months. It's one of my favorite plays though. The same is true that I have a ticket for an Amadeus screening, but I love the film so much I'd love to see the play in person.
I'd love any advise or guidance or other suggestions as well. Thanks so much!

Hi there, just checking that you know that The Dresser has finished in central London? There are performances from 25 January to 4 February but they are in Chichester.

Thanks! unfortunately with todaytix lottos I wouldn't know I won until later in the day and probably too late to grab a day seat to anything else, right? Plus they just announced this production will likely play broadway so I'd hate to give up a slot when I could wait a season.

I thought Hedda Gabler was great, but if you've not enjoyed van Hove's other productions I don't think this one will change your mind! Also apparently the Friday Rush tickets for this one are right at the back of the circle.
Not seen this revival of "An Inspector Calls" but it's a great show and production (or was last time it was revived!)
As it looks like you enjoy fringe musical productions, how about "Death Takes a Holiday" at the Charing Cross Theatre? Only just opened so not seen any reports on this yet, but same director as the very well received "Titanic" among other things. Todaytix has £20 rush tickets which are available from 10AM I think, so you'd know early if you've got in.

I doubt the whole cast would transfer and it's not just Amber who's good, so definitely worth seeing in London. Look online to see if there are any tickets left for any of your slots.

I saw the original production of "Death Takes a Holiday" off-Broadway years ago and didn't care for the show all that much. I think I'll stick with just seeing the NT Live screening of Hedda then. Van Hove's Crucible actually made me feel very angry and View from the Bridge was just indulgent and silly (obviously I'm in the minority there).
