Which are your favorite stories of ghosts in theatres? I am partial to tales of the Man in Grey "helping" actors by pushing them into place on stage? I understand the ghost is considered a good luck charm if it appears on opening night. Is there an actual record of opening night appearances? And should a producer close a show if the Man in Grey fails to appear?

I'd be surprised if there's an actual record of ghosts on an opening night given that ghosts don't actually exist. 👻

There were definitely a number of 'bumps in the night' when I worked at Drury Lane.

There were definitely a number of 'bumps in the night' when I worked at Drury Lane. Well, it is reportedly the most haunted theatre in the world. www.londonparanormal.com/theatres/

I'm still haunted by Keira Knightly in the Misanthrope...

I did the RSC's 'after dark' ghost tour once, and the guide made a big show of not letting us in a particular stage door because there was a presence that didn't want us there that was pressing against the door.
Apparently the Royal Shakespeare Theatre has two separate ghosts!
This would have been slightly more effective if the theatre hadn't been built in 2010.

I did that tour once. The actual tour guide was poorly that day, so we got a guy who didn't really care for ghost stories and had some kind of running joke that my friend and I wanted to steal actors' underwear. Not *quite* what we'd booked for...

I remember seeing Most Haunted from Drury Lane where they all saw a figure climbing the stairs. Coincidently this happened when they had all the cameras in a fixed position facing the other way. Cant quite remember who Derek Acorah got possessed by on this particular occasion...

I thought I heard kids running once at the Orange Tree theatre, as it used to be a school. I was disappointed when it turned out to be a false alarm.
