Wonder whether he's actually recovered, or is just on serious painkillers to get through the opening. Hope it's not the latter, and that if it is doing the show doesn't make it worse!

Either way makes for good Opening Night publicity hey. Im not saying it was a stunt or anything but its certainly a little bit handy.

Clearly it wasn't serious. It wasn't an athlete's or dancer's injury. The guy fell. He rested, popped a couple of pills, and moved on. I have to say though, the suspense and drama was good.

Just tried to listen to the soundtrack and found myself skipping through it. I really want to like it, its produced well but the most of the music just doesn't grab me. Im able to remember alot more of the show and picture it in my minds eye with the music triggering memories but thats all. I think the only part I like is the last 2minutes of Seeing You, ironically the end of the show. Maybe its a grower.

He's torn his ACL it seems! Which I believe is extremely serious, will he be able to do enough performances to be nominated? Really hope so, he deserves it so much

Just been reading the reviews. Wow, American critics are really bothered by half-rhymes! I'd have thought they'd be more familiar with that old comic-song technique. Some cracks at the creative team not being American, too, which is funny because I am absolutely sure the small-town USA stuff comes straight from Danny Rubin.
Brantley still loves it and on the whole they're positive, but not absolute raves. I suspect they won't have a huge impact on ticket sales. Shame.

Just read the Time Out review which is hilarious: "One can’t help but wonder if an American creative team might have found more sympathy, subtlety and pathos in the material." Not sure I even have watched the same show as them my opninion of it was so far from theirs...

I downloaded the cast recording from NPR and listened to it today. Beautifully recorded. The harmonies are beautiful. It sounds great on stage but you can really appreciate the details of the vocal arrangements on this recording.

^Same. I've had it on repeat since yesterday - I just adore it. Wonderful how I'd feel listening without having seen it, but I don't have to worry about that!
Just such a wonderfully inventive, witty, original & emotional score with incredible harmonies and orchestrations. God I just love this show!!!

So glad to see he is back and ready to open! No. That one is too easy, even for me.

You can say a lot of things about Tim Minchin's lyrics, but 'lazy'?!

I've spent this morning listening to the recording in work and I love it. However I've got to 'Hope' and come over a bit emotional. Curse that Groundhog.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand this video from Broadway.com?

Am I the only one who doesn't understand this video from Broadway.com? My only guess that it's meant to be a sort of "Groundhog Day" style parody of everyone answering interview questions in the same way? Not their best lol

Can't wait for tomorrow. I've never been this excited about a cast recording before!

My only guess that it's meant to be a sort of "Groundhog Day" style parody of everyone answering interview questions in the same way? Not their best lol That's what I thought initially, actually. I thought it was referencing a song or something, but couldn't for the life of me recognise what. Can't wait for tomorrow. I've never been this excited about a cast recording before! Having pre-ordered it from iTunes, I'm hoping it'll be able to download in an hour from now! There hasn't been any mention of a specific time on 21st April on iTunes. I hope not 6 a.m. that's for sure...
