I didn't say it was right or wrong (personally I would however get myself out of sight and drink somewhere I was more likely not to be bothered by fans post show) but then the CHF fans are not, as this thread has demonstrated over and over, strangers to a bit of drama.

I don’t think she should feel obliged to do ANYthing after the show but i do think that being visible in the bar, throwing back drinks and laughing with your mates while a bunch of tweens stand outside with their noses to the window seems a tad insensitive.
As for the amount of hate she gets, I’m not justifying trolling but when it happens she gets armies of fans supporting her and shouting down the naysayers.

Exactly BurlyBeaR I think standing in the bar, while people were clearly still waiting in hope of an autograph/whatever and when she knows how people get is a bit much. It's not like there's not many a pub within easy reach they could have gone to. And I didn't see what anyone tweeted at the lady in question today, but with her quote-tweeting it then people like Shenton chiming in brings more attention to the person - for the sake of one grumpy tweet at Carrie that seems like a lot.

I don't know the exact set up at TOP but if Carrie was in the bar she is entitled to stay there. I stage door a lot but not on press nights as I know cast have gone to the bar etc.
Sometimes I've noticed cast members in bars but I don't disturb them and might wait until they leave to ask them to sign. Sometimes they will say "You should have come over" but often they are appreciative of someone having the courtesy not to disturb them.
My thought would just be wait until she leaves and ask her then to sign.
CHF blocked me on twitter for asking if Heathers promo drawing had been airbrushed?

I was observing the entire thing and it was mostly people repeating what Carrie has stated in vlogs and such - you paid to see the show, not to meet the cast; Carrie has every right to choose not to sign or meet people at stage door; if you want to meet her, go to her book tour etc. There were a few instances where people made quite personal remarks about her parenting, calling her children "spoilt divas", which I honestly think was going a tad too far. Yes, the lady was very entitled and arrogant in what she said, but attacking her children and her parenting skills when you don't know her and putting things on a personal level is never good. I agree that she her attitude reeked, but there's better ways to articulate your thoughts instead of attacking them personally.

If it weren't for this forum I would have no idea who she was (and now only vaguely do) so am impressed she has such a big fan base.

I've seen very entitled parents demanding when stars will come out of Stage Doors as their little darlings want to meet them!

Stage doors for shows that CHF is in always seem to turn into a free book signing/gatherings for fangirls/causes for pushy parents to complain.

That same lady found Carrie's personal Facebook account and sent a message to Carrie - now that is taking it way too far.

Yeah the same woman who complained and deleted her tweets tracked Carries personal Facebook down and sent her messages.

This is still going on?!
Someone made a negative comment.
Instead of ignoring it Carrie sent this person EIGHT different tweets directly and some indirectly causing all her followers to wade in.
Tweets like this;
She can't be surprised when it escalates as a result?!
It's madness!

It's madness! “Stars” should not forget that their succes is entirely down to the support of fans whose adoration they encourage. It would not have hurt CHF to send a polite tweet to this mother to diffuse the situation. As for claiming the woman tracked diown her private Facebook page...surely this is a misleading way of putting things, making the woman seem like a stalker. I feel for the mum who probably had to deal with kids who were very upset.

You don’t think messaging someone on multiple social media platforms is a bit much?
Most people will work out for themselves that if a star is hanging in the bar with friends that they’ve clocked off for the night and won’t be appearing at stage door.
Though Carrie would have been best off using the block button and complaining privately, I agree.

For clarity my comment yesterday was before I saw the woman had also found Carrie’s private FB I was just basing it off the initial tweets. Obviously that’s a line and the woman is clearly very entitled and has no idea what is acceptable. (But her original now deleted tweet was one reply to one of Carrie’s that Carrie chose to pick up on and fanned the flames so maybe this one is a case of unfortunately picking the wrong person to call out and it escalated?)

Sorry to interrupt but... Although strictly speaking this is a 'stage door drama', we now seem to have turned this thread into the 'Carrie Hope Fletcher drama' (22 consecutive posts on her above). She does have quite a lengthy thread dedicated to her alone over in the Performers and Creative section where most posts are about ...her stage door dramas. Just saying.

Oh the drama darling! Carrie should have raised her glass to that woman from the bar and then threw the olive at her. Complete with olive stick.

It's just that Carrie Hope Fletcher and Stage Door Dramas seem to be synonymous!

On the wider issue of younger kids being taken to the stage door and then being upset/disappointed, you have to put the blame fair and square with the parents for setting that expectation in the first place. “Darling were going to see xxxxxx in xxxxxxx and afterwards were going to MEET HER!” And if the blame is being put on twitter them I’m afraid I think twitter should be for over 18s only, as should Facebook, Instagram and all other sites which contain questionable content.
I wonder if this is just another example of how *some* parents overindulge their children to the point where nothing is ever refused. Like in The Devil Wears Prada where the two little monsters are promised first sight of the new Harry Potter and must have it at any cost. I’m afraid the word “no” was very common in my youth, in fact it tripped off the tongues of my parents with predictable regularity and as a result I have not grown up with the huge sense of entitlement that *some* younger people seem to have these days.

What are your kids doing seeing Heathers to begin with? I’d have given the show a solid 15 rating (ahem, despite the fact that I was watching the 18 rated film obsessively from the age of 12, so call me a hypocrite if need be).
This drama strikes me as immaturity on both sides. A mother should not be setting this as an example to her kids by trolling a performer online. I echo the opinion that due to the setup of the theatre not having a stage door, CHF should have also had the foresight to go and socialise with her friends elsewhere instead of in plain view of people who would have liked to have met her.
Were the responses to the woman posted publicly? Either way it’s a little unprofessional and provocative. Let’s hope they live and learn.

This reminds me of that incident on the US X-Factor where they let younger children enter. Don’t hate me for laughing. It’s just the cries of “Mommy, you promised” that get me.

I don’t think the children are as young as the mother’s tweets seem to suggest. When the drama was happening on Twitter she posted a photo of who I assume to be her daughters, with a couple of members of the Hamilton cast (with a veiled dig at Carrie, about them being so nice to make the time for their fans) and they looked to be teenaged. They looked old enough for one to assume they would have the maturity to deal with not being able to meet their “idol”. Anyway, in this situation, I don’t think Carrie is wrong, but I really don’t think she dealt with it very well.

The children were obviously accompanied so couldn't wait on their own but I don't think anyone comes out with great credit. But CHF has her fan base so if she annoys a few does it really bother her when it is thousands strong.
Would Producers worry about casting her due to her fanbase I doubt it, if they are looking at bottom line then they would see however many Social Media followers and think well get some of them in and we'll make money.
