Me, I love seeing a great dance and Danny was good but you are right, Ryan, he has been good from the start so where's the competition? Who can beat Danny? Ore also v good but no dancing background. So we are told. It's gonna be one of them to win, no? Or Ed Balls.

It's so clear they want Danny to win because there is no way that was a perfect scoring dance. He was out of time with Oti and the dancers for some of it and it was all rather laboured. Plus, he just doesn't have the personality for a charleston. Ultimately, as good as he is I think it'll be a real shame if he wins because unlike any of the others he just hasn't made any progress since day one. Yes, but he is easy on the eye.

You know sometimes, just for curiosity's sake, if anyone's ever made a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to the studio for the actual voting figures.
Because we just accept them, as do the celebrities and their professional dancers, and that's done. But are these figures actually published somewhere?

It won't be a shame if he wins if he's the best dancer, which currently he is! He has made progress, it's just more subtle than those who had never done any form of dancing before (and of course he's never done ballroom either). Getting 40 doesn't mean a dance is perfect, it never will be. But they had already given Ore 38 for a dance that was nowhere near as good, so they didn't really have anywhere else to go. That's why it got 40, not because it was perfection. I didn't think he was out of time though, but people are concentrating on different things at different times. And Charleston doesn't have to be all the fake gurning faces people generally do, it's not really about that.

Craig (who was the only one not to have given a 10 before last night) has said what makes him give a 10 is when he feels swept away by a dance, not technical perfection (which is basically impossible for non professional dancers). In that case, I can see why Danny's Charleston got the 40, especially compared to the other underwhelming dances of last night.

Opening number was a mash up of "The Nicest Kids in Town" from the musical Hairspray!

Already knew the result from the spoiler but so glad Claudia didn't go, one bad week should not be the end when you're as good as she is.
Sad for Greg to go out on a relatively strong week but he's had a real good run for his ability.

Sounds like you might have a bit of a cough caiaphas. Hope you're not coming down with anything. Some hot water, honey and lemon might help. So now we can't even speculate about the elimination in case we happen to be right? mmmmkay! You can do whatever you like, Burly. It's your Board. I'm just a guest... Blackpool was a bit of a disappointment this year, in my opinion. Let's get back to the studio!

I'm sure they can be obtained if they were asked for. Don't know if it was before you moved to the UK Anthony but some years ago there was a huge scandal over telephone voting for tv shows. I think any programme using it now will be squeaky clean.

I think any programme using it now will be squeaky clean. It's true. They've never been published though. ITV do with all their shows I think. Just found this page: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1X4ySd2Dzmg00cg4ZDc8DmC/voting-infoApparently Strictly voting is exempt from Freedom of Information requests. Their excuse is poor though. ITV don't release their voting figures until after the series is finished which makes sense. I liked it in the early days when money from votes went to Children In Need. The votes probably cost more then though. As BurlyBeaR said, the phone votes scandals changed everything which is why voting for the BBC are only 15p. Everything is strictly (no pun intended) controlled by adjudicators now.

Just caught up with this late Sunday evening having been out and about on Saturday!
I thought generally the show from Blackpool was disappointing. I know it is a bigger dance area and they need to "fill" it but the additional dancers were distracting and I found it difficult to focus on the actual competitors. The ballroom is spectacular and they had some amazing camera angles of it but again it seemed to dwarf the competition.
As I have said before Danny is by far the best dancer - but so he should be being professionally trained and he has been amazing from the start. The none dancers are more interesting to watch improving or not.
It was clear that Claudia would stay - otherwise there would be only one woman (Louise) left! But I did feel for Greg in that I think as a none dancer he had done incredibly well and probably deserved to stay. Both he and Natalie looked gutted. As an Olympian he will have been gutted that he did not even make a "bronze" medal and Natalie looked like she had lost the love of her life!!!!!

If Ed did a dance like this to a sing like this, I bet you he would be in the dance off!!

And that's exactly what's going to happen, to ensure he's not in the final.

Just heard on the BBC news that Gorka Marquez was attacked on Saturday night in Blackpool and has lost some teeth. That's really awful.

Just heard on the BBC news that Gorka Marquez was attacked on Saturday night in Blackpool and has lost some teeth. That's really awful. It's just hideous. When I used to live abroad, I was fiercely proud of this country. Now I'm quite reticent to go anywhere for how they see us.

And that's exactly what's going to happen, to ensure he's not in the final. That's the thing. I think X Factor is still 100% more fixed than Strictly but I do think producers are keeping Ed in on purpose by giving him fast dances to fun songs! Where's his Viennese Waltz, Rumba American Smooth etc to a slow song??!!

You are right George, there's a reason he has 4 ballrooms left to do and only one latin (rumba).

They never tell us how they allocate the dances do they? Out of a hat? They can't risk a whole evening of waltzes. So how?

BBC tv broadcast Honey G's tweeted endorsement of Andy Murray in advance of yesterday's historic encounter with Novak Djokovic. But Ed Balls was nowhere to be seen or heard.
