Not a massive football fan but thought he was awful presenting The One Show. Was like he'd turned up at 6.50 with no preparation and then struggled to read the autocue.

It's Jenas...
Do we need a thread for a second-rate footballer, third-rate presenter, and xxx-rate sexter?
Surely a musical would be more fun. "Eujenas!"?

I guess the main thing is that the BBC are seeking to act swiftly when misconduct is found
Which is a step forward

Jenus is his own fool and the architect for his own downfall.
However his replacement on the One Show is being reported as Rylan Clark who I find to be every bit horrific.

I like Rylan's relaxed presenting style on tv and radio - I think he has that rare knack of being able to span generations and genders easily, which is probably exactly what the One Show needs right now. Not that I am a viewer or the One Show. I just remember those blasted trumpets in the intro and the magazine style format - Rylan would be a safe pair of hands for early evening entertainment.

Must say my attitude towards Rylan has changed over the years. I think a pivotal point was when he was a judge at West End Eurovision and I saw how entertaining he was. I find him quite amusing and think he would fit in well on The One Show. Just don't offer the job to Alison Hammond!!

Never seen Rylan in anything apart from his appearance on Room 101 with Frank Skinner and his Italia programme with judge Rinder. Thought he was superb on both

Mine too - he used to irritate me hugely but either I've mellowed or he has been allowed to let his personality seep through. He felt manufactured and fake at the beginning (I'm not talking about the teeth!) but in recent years has become a good all-round presenter. Alison Hammond has to be the most irritating person on television. It's a close run thing for first-place between her and the Reverend Kate Botley

I'm not a great fan of everything Rylan does (I won't be watching "Naked Dating", or "This Morning" come to that) but it is impressive how he has parlayed being the joke contestant on X Factor into a solid light entertainment career. Everyone that has worked with him says he works really hard to learn from professionals and perfect his craft - he's not just someone who shows up and expects to wing it. I thought the Grand Tour programme he did with Rob Rinder was excellent and I think he'd be perfect for "The One Show" - I don't watch it now, him being on it won't make me watch it, but I think it would be a good fit for him. His podcasts on dealing with fame and modern masculinity were thoughtful and intelligent, which suggests there is quite a lot more behind that light entertainment persona.

Back in 2014 Rylan was on a Channel 4 programme called 'Who Are You?' in which Grayson Perry explored identity by making portraits of various people. Rylan was depicted on a porcelain miniature and styled as the Earl of Essex. He came over as a thoughtful reflective young man. I'm not the target audience for the programmes that he appears on but I would definitely see him as someone who has demonstrable depth.

I had to go out this morning so my mind was focused elsewhere but I heard Jermaine Jenas make a statement, something akin to the fact that he admits an error was made, and that something he will work on himself but lets not forget, I'm not entirely to blame here. There were two consenting adults sending texts!
As I say, my mind was elsewhere.
It made me think of the time when both Alex Jones and Jason Manford were announced as the new host's of The One Show and he too was swiftly removed after some it was revealed that some inappropriate texts were sent.
But he had his comedy and , now, his singing to fall back on.
In these situation I tend to have very little sympathy for the caught out media personality.
It's their family members who I feel for.

. He felt manufactured and fake at the beginning (I'm not talking about the teeth!) but in recent years has become a good all-round presenter. He was ‘fake’ on X Factor - he was very deliberately playing up to the stereotype the show cast him as, because he understood the show and how to play the game on it. At the same time, when fellow-contestant Lucy Spraggan was raped in her hotel room, he was the one who made sure no-one disturbed the scene before the police could get there. If it had been left up to the show producers, with Lucy herself being in shock, the room would have been cleaned and all the forensic evidence destroyed. And that was after he had checked up on her the night before, after a night out to celebrate his 21st birthday, and shut the room door (which the rapist had deliberately left open), which meant the rapist had to use a traceable key-card to open it. Basically without him the rapist would have gotten away with it. All that while taking an absolute kicking from social media and the press. I’ve got a lot of time for Rylan.

I do wonder if he actually meant consenting adults, given if the recipients had been consenting adults complaint would not have been made. It's possible he meant "two adults over the age of consent" which is something else entirely.

Wow - didn't know any of that. Shocking. It only came out publicly last summer, when Lucy waived her anonymity to talk about it.

Rylan is in the rare group of people who everyone who has worked with them has only positive things to say about them. Every single thing I read about him makes me respect him even more. His management company is made up of people who were junior show runners on X factor that he wanted to support.

Another day, another scandal. Now Jay Blades has been charged with controlling and coercive behaviour. At least now there won’t be another series of David and Jay’s Touring Toolshed with the insufferable David Jason. I saw Blades outside Fortnum & Mason’s the other day, Saville Row suit, looking very sleek and wealthy - no sign of his cap.

It isn't a scandal.
It is a dreadful situation for those directly affected by what is alleged to have happened.
But it the BBC cannot and should not be held accountable for what happens in the private lives of their employees/contractors.
If guilty, the person involved will suffer the appropriate sanctions.
But it isn't a scandal.

I thought the point of the court process was to ascertain the details. Has that happened yet?
