This is my favourite game!
Looks like Julie begins previews on the 21st February, while Cabaret starts previews 1st of April. I'd imagine she'd just open Julie, then go and rehearse Cabaret. Of course, Cabaret is already established, so an assistant/associate could fill in until she arrives.
The real question is: when will she come back to London?

ITA website says opening night for Miss Julie is Sunday 25th February. I'd be amazed if she wasn't there now. First public performance is an open dress rehearsal on 21st then what they call try-outs. Any theatre fan wanting to go to Amsterdam should know that every Thursday in the main run of the show they do performances with English surtitles.

She's directed Julie before as well and she's given the 4-5 weeks that a play rehearsal usually takes. I think they'd be fine with her wrapping rehearsals a week or two earlier than usual to accommodate her schedule. Moreover, it's in Dutch, so I'm guessing a lot of the rehearsal is now under the reins whoever's doing the translation of her adaptation. I'm sure she'll make it to opening night. Michael Grief is out there directing three musicals on Broadway this spring. |

Julie runs for all of 15 performances, and as mentioned above, in Dutch. She's more than done her bit.

Just never heard of a director missing tech and rehearsals towards opening before. Would be strange to me but I didn't know it was a common thing. |

Also Cabaret itself won't need as much directing as it is a transfer not an entirely new production.

It is a brand new adaptation - by Rebecca Frecknall herself.
In 2016 she directed a production of Zinnie Harris's Julie at Northern Stage in Newcastle.
My understanding is that she's in Amsterdam at the moment but made a flying visit to NYC for the Cabaret company meet and greet/read-through etc and will be back there for rehearsals proper next week.

3 weeks later? Answers please!! Very strange. Olivier eligibility needs 30 performances, so 17 days (taking out Sundays) would need a lot of two day performances to get onto any lists. |

Definite "no" on Bernalda Alba transfer though lol. On NTatHome and needs a giant house to hold it so no chance
I think anything that's running for this short of a time has to be some kind of work preview or workshop run, or something. Really odd amount of time for it to run for lol

I'd heard a rumour that they wanted to do some kind of tour for Streetcar but honestly I don't know.

Could be Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, as Streetcar only run a month in the West End, if it is Cat why would it need rehearsal time though?

I can't think of any ATG venues which will be free in February unless Benjamin Button closes early. More likely than you think looking at sales  Parachuting a Frecknall show in to fill a gap, a show like Streetcar...? Seems like it could be done. |
