Is anyone else watching this magnificent acting tour de force on Channel 4? It’s especially interesting for me where it has all been filmed around Weston, Bristol, Portishead & Burnham-on-Sea. I keep expecting someone I know to walk through the shot. It’s a tale of a group of pensioners attempting to own their own deaths, while a busy-body young copper starts piecing together their implausible fake/assisted suicides. Sue Johnson in particular (tragically skirting the throes of alzheimers) is a revelation, while Lindsey Duncan does her best cool academic trying to hold it all together. Brilliant.
