She's about as well known in NYC theatre circles, as Rachel is here, maybe a little more so.
Mandy Gonzales was the one redeeming feature in Dance of The Vampires. She's got some big chops and hope i'll get to see her in November.

What a waste of some really awesome music (Braver than we are...)

Whenever she sang opposite Crawford, you can hear her pulling back her voice, not wanting it give it the full belt. That flying was actually quite effective, despite the whole ball scene just being an excuse for a big flashy sequence. And she had to do it all in a cheap nylon red wig too. Bless her.
The whole show in on YT and the qualitys isnt bad either.

And the Norma alt is....... CAROLINE BOWMAN... Also Heather Headley was asked if she would be interested in replacing after Nicole but its still unknown if the production will extend it's run. I was told it was Bowman but it seems she dropped out last minute because now she's now doing Karen in Smash.

So is ‘Smash’ actual ‘Smash’, not just the ‘Bombshell’ thing they did a few years ago? And series 2 ‘Smash’ (✅) or boring series 1 ‘Smash’? (boooo!).

Me too! I'm going to NYC in October specifically for Sunset. I've already been able to book front row (right) and have one more free day available to book shows. Nothing else is appealing to me right now so I want to book Sunset again but don't want to pay for the VIP package. I've looked on broadway.com but there are even fewer seats available to book there. Not sure what's going on but if anyone figures it out I'd love to know. Yup - it's strange! Perhaps some of our NYC members on here can tell us if SeetGeek usually split their allocation with another agent and if so, which agent that is! (Or if they are known to hold lots of seats off sale). Just wondered if there was any more news on this? I see the VIP tickets have been reduced by $50 since I last checked a couple of weeks ago but they still haven't released any more seats yet.

I don't have answers to your specific questions, though it is possible that the production will release more seats closer to the performance date. But, you should never buy from Broadway.com. The site is a ticket broker and you'll end up paying extensive fees on top of your ticket price.

That huge swath of mid stalls seats around both aisles still off sale - it's very frustrating!

I’m desperate to see it again in October, but not at those prices, with that level of limited seating choice. Maybe the theatre box office hold the key?

I've been researching other shows to see while I'm in NYC for this and I must say I've barely seen anything about it on the sites I've been looking at. Booked my seats ages ago so it's of no real consequence to me, but I did expect this to be a pushed a bit more. That said, think it'll do quite well through word of mouth. Plus, towards the end of the West End run the clips of Tom Francis singing outside were really doing the rounds all over social media, so assuming the Act II opening is in a similarly public space then that'll also help I'm sure. As for the off-sale seats, I tried emailing ages ago to enquire about the front row seats but got no response. Settled for elsewhere.

Had a nosey on Google Earth, and unless there’s a warren of corridors that Tom can use to get outside, the theatre appears to be land-locked on 3 sides. Quite excited to see what they’ll do at the top of act 2.

I think they’ll do a rooftop bit with those St James and showtitle lights rigged up there.

My hunch is also rooftop.
It all started very well in London. And it actually ended well. But in the last few weeks it was teetering on becoming something out of control with the increasing crowds gathering to see Tom.
The cat is out of the bag so it arrives on Broadway as a "thing." And that area is much more densely crowded than the end of the Strand - so I do wonder if the mingling through the random public bit will be dropped.
On another topic, interesting that the sales look lukewarm. Though I guess like here, last minute sales now account for more than they did post pandemic. Hope so!

Yeah my hunch when theatres hold mid stalls seats off sale is that they are waiting to see if they can get away with pricing them as premium with the seats in front of them or "top price non premium" with the seats behind them. Hoping they might make up their mind soon though!

I would think that its got a somewhat decent advance. People are a bit anxious to plan far ahead these days, especially post-pandemic. I even found myself going back and forth before ultimately pulling the trigger to spend $700 for two tickets for the first Saturday matinee in October. And the performance I'm going to, it looks like a good number of seats are sold already. I'll be shocked if this doesn't become a hot ticket pretty quickly. I mean even Bad Cinderella opened decently just on the ALW name - this has a heck of a lot more excitement (and Awards) attached to it

So glad they're taking Hannah over as young Norma. She's the perfect fit.

Is it a bit suspicious that Hannah is the only ensemble transferring, considering she’s Tom’s girlfriend?

the only ensemble transferring in that you're wrong, Tyler, Emma, Shayna are also transferring over

Always amused me that Norma gets a day off replacement, a standby and an understudy, while Joe who has far more work to do gets naff all! (I do know he will have understudies, but they never get a mention.)

(I do know he will have understudies, but they never get a mention.) It's that thing that's dogged Sunset from the start - sometimes to it's detriment- that it is very much viewed as a "star vehicle" show - despite Joe being an as big, if not bigger role. (Admittedly he only has one big solo, but still...)
