Waiting for Patti LuPone to “have her say/break her silence” as the evil tabloid journalisms like to say!

Lloyd Webber is so opportunistic and disingenuous - there'll be someone else along soon who'll be "the best" he's ever seen.

My guess is that she'll have to be prodded - some blogger will get an interview with her and ask "So what do you think about Nicole Scherzinger playing Norma Desmond" and then we'll be off to the races. Kind of hope I'm wrong. It's beyond pathetic at this point to keep re-litigating this 30 years later. I'd much rather her attend Opening Night with Glenn and Betty

I really want Andy to saunter up and down outside the Booth Theatre where Lupone's 'pleasant enough but not earth shattering' play "The Roommate" is on, crowing about his success while wearing a T-shirt saying "If you can't handle me at my Norma Desmond, You don't deserve me at my Nicole Scherzinger". The absolute scenes!

The walk down the street is fantastic but looks like a logistical nightmare in NY from the videos on social media.

Shocked about the reactions the outside filming is getting online atm. They gotta be careful for that negative word of mouth. Goes to show you how different cultures react differently to things.

What kind of reactions is it getting? They are of the opinion that the show has no right to barge people out of the way for the camera. I've seen comments proposing that it will only take one wrong push and it could backfire in a physically violent or financial claim way for the production. They are saying it is dangerous and shouldn't happen.

That's a bit of an overreaction, you make way for others on the sidewalk all the time- it's not like the crew are driving a vehicle onto the sidewalk or doing anything illegal or that actually endangers anyone. All comes down to how timely and politely the security people clear the path before Tom and the crew stride past for a split second- I've been more inconvenienced by tourists and Tiktokers hogging the street!

Betty has been vocal in her support of Nicole/this production since it was on in the West End. Though, I think she's yet to actually see it.

Celebrity sightings are just starting at Sunset, it sold out last night and a quick look and you can see tickets are selling more and more briskly as each preview performance passes. There's just some (especially on that board) that simply want something to be annoyed about

Is it normal to have a totally separate thread on BWW for previews? When previews are over are they all going to revert to the original long standing thread for Sunset?

I think the BWW forum is a nightmare in many respects, and it is totally chaotic as many different threads co-exist for the same shows (Previews, Reviews, a special occurrence or just a random new thread) - I guess it all comes down to their not having as great Admins as we have! ❤️

Honestly, and not just to give you and the admins a big head ( ) this place is far more organized, civil, and constructive... The nonsense that pops up on the BWW forum and just idiotic comments, really have to refrain myself. Someone just posted "Webber just likes to make money" - I was going to post "yeah as opposed to all the other composers out there, right? Lin Manuel doesn't need money for him and his family to live in NYC" - there's so many lazy and nonsensical posts.

There’s a video where they clearly knock an elderly woman with a cane off balance, and another where they forcibly shove a woman out of their way. You don’t know anyone’s story. I was molested and a stranger putting their hands on me in any way often sets me off. If they put their hand on my shoulder to forcibly move me out of their way, they’d have a show stop on their hands because I would not be quiet. It IS dangerous and absurd and disrespectful to people simply going about their evening.

OK - didn't mean to trigger you But as someone who used to work in NYC and have to walk from 34th street to 47th Street on a regular basis, if you're in the middle of Manhattan, near Times Square, one of the largest tourist spots in NYC I can assure you you're going to have physical contact with other people - a majority of the time unintentionally... with bumps and such.

All comes down to how timely and politely the security people clear the path before Tom I've watched a video on YT today (titled 'Tom Francis Sunset Blvd walk - part 2') showcasing how it's done. It did look really cringeworthy and messy (as in 'it's a mess') to me, tbh.

Must admit in general I find BWW absolutely abysmal.
The toxicity on there is unreal some days!
Not to mention it’s almost unreadable anyway due to the appalling layout, lack of decent navigation and endless intrusive ads.
It’s like something from the Freeserve era.

I hope no one finds offense in this, but as a european, to me it feels very american how everythings being blown out of proportion. I mean, people are literally commenting things like it would be their “life mission” to make sure to ruin the scene if they would have to move to let the cameras and actor through. I mean, come on.

It’s just a typical slightly right wing, knee-jerk reaction to somebody potentially interfering with their life, and finding reasons to be affronted by something that won’t ever affect them. 🙄 I can’t imagine anyone that doesn’t want touching would visit Times Square, knowing full well how likely it would be to trigger them.
