Totally agree, deffo a publicity gimmick. Doubt she’ll even do stage door once the run gets going. She and her voice must be protected from the public’s germs! Don't blame her if she does stop doing the stage door. Who in their right mind would willingly choose to mingle with the public, especially the sort that hang around stage doors? Indeed. Hard avoid! |

Yes exactly that… I highly doubt she’d have done it had there not been cameras filming promo for the show’s opening. In London she only did stage door a few times, so would imagine it’ll be the same approach on Broadway. Totally agree, deffo a publicity gimmick. Doubt she’ll even do stage door once the run gets going. She and her voice must be protected from the public’s germs! Absolutely. She did incredibly well in London to only miss a couple of scheduled shows (that weekend in Nov where ATG contacted ticket-holders to let them know), which I’m sure would’ve been more if she’d been stage-dooring every night in the cold and the wet and breathing in all kinds of bugs! Given the hoo-ha that always arises when a lead of her status has to miss shows, plus there’s now Broadway’s above the title policy to consider, it’s hardly surprising the producers will want to do all they can to keep her well. |

It's also why they've got good Broadway names as the guest star/standby - yes they won't mean much to the public and the public will largely claim refunds as is their right on Broadway if the 'above the title' is off, but Norma is in great hands of she does get sick.

Part of Nicole appearing outside the stage door Saturday night seems to have been for the promos that they hurried out yesterday. The PR/marketing here has been amazing.

Absolutely obsessed with the marketing for this show. I actually think generally theatre marketing is very much stuck in the past. A couple of billboards and posters is not a enough to sell a show in 2024. Make cool clips to go on tik tok, make it COOL, the IN THING to go and see your show. Jamie Lloyd always markets his shows in such a modern way.

Does anyone know how high the stage is at St James? I have front row seats but from some of the photos I've seen online I'm now a little worried it'll be very high.

Rumour on the Broadway boards that the temperature is being kept at 90f throughout the theatre “at the Director’s request” according to an usher.
I wonder how many other complaints that usher has fobbed off with that one.

There are some reviews/photos of some of the front row seats for this production, if you have a look at the St James page on the seatplan site. The front row for SB is row A, and according to one of the seat reviews, the stage is at eye level (although the photos make it look slightly higher). |

Looking at the social media posts, last nights performance of the Act 2 opener was quite severely disrupted due to the nearby production of Hell's Kitchen finishing later than usual. They were unable to wrangle the crowd away, Tom got separated from the camera crew briefly, I think cut short his route a bit and returned down a slight detour. There was some audio disruption as well. All credit to the man, he re-entered the theatre on time and didn't miss a beat, truly a musical theatre star.
