Lizzie Bea’s put up on her Instagram story that the London cast has started rehearsals (which surprises me as I thought they had already started rehearsing). So hopefully they announce the full cast this week. Thank god! I really hope so :-) So do I! I understand that they would have to announce star casting first but they really have took their time.

Something quite nice about the fact they're bringing to town almost everyone who dragged it round the country for a year 😂

Claudia's likely to be covering Bev isnt she? Probably and presumably anyone who was an understudy in the tour is covering those roles again

Well I'll hope to catch a Claudia show with whoever ends up in the second cast as I've absolutely zero interest in watching Burke have another bash at this

Are there any rumours on who could be star casting for Alexandra Burke (apart from Elaine Paige possibly being Mother Superior)?

As an American, this coming back seems weird to me as it very likely wouldn't do a Broadway return a year later. There was just a production last year and it has been touring all over the UK. The Dominion is a huge theatre. Is there really a huge appetite to see this and actually fill the seats for a run there? I think it is a fun and entertaining show, but not the greatest musical that would merit a return. That being said, I am planning a long visit of over 5 weeks this spring so will probably catch it as I haven't seen it since it opened on Broadway and I do like Beverly Knight.

It was a massive hit at the Apollo, and it's sold exceptionally well on its tour over the past year. The London run previously was only 7 weeks don't forget and wasn't in the West End...
London has got some great names in it (for both the wider public and theatre aficionados) and it's feel good.
The production is...pretty cheap really, and the selling power of Bev and Ruth Jones together for 12 weeks, alongside Alexandra Burke and whoever ends up with her as Mother Superior) Say what you will about Jamie Wilson's very cheap productions - he knows how to cast people that will set the box office alight!

That being said, I am planning a long visit of over 5 weeks this spring so will probably catch it as I haven't seen it since it opened on Broadway and I do like Beverly Knight. I think the Sister Act movie is in the same camp as Mrs Doubtfire. A fun 90s comedy that seems to have a bigger following as a modern "classic" in the UK than perhaps it does in the US. Also the economics are just a bit different in the West End compared to Broadway. The idea of tours coming into London and small-scale plays getting transfers just seems to be a bit more financially viable. The fact that this is running at the same time as its tour as two separate productions is a bit extraordinary though! That doesn't happen with many UK musicals. I think the Dominion is just so hard to fill that they can put touring crowd-pleasers in there until the next "big thing" comes along - like The Devil Wears Prada.

I saw it last year and the reason I'm going to go back again is Beverley Knight. Yes, it's a fun show but I think she's amazing and for me is the big draw.

Does anyone know if they’ll be doing rush tickets? I know it’s far in advance.

Did anyone see the first preview last night? #spoiler# I did! The main differences I found to the Hammersmith Apollo version were:- - They had shortened Bev’s Take Me To Heaven at the very beginning, going almost straight in to Lemar’s dialogue - There were a few more Welsh references in relation to Ruth, including wearing Welsh flag socks in I Haven’t Got A Prayer - Claudia and Natalia as Bev’s backing singers had very different outfits for Take Me To Heaven and they no longer matched each other - Bev’s floating platform for Sister Act came in from the side rather than directly from the top - Finally, some more minimal changes with, for example, the Monsignor with glasses that were more glittery than before, a more elaborate robe etc.

Was Claudia and Natalia’s outfits the same they wore on the press launch during Beverley’s performance of Fabulous Baby?

I have to say I would prefer if they just had the old outfits because I don’t really think they fit the 70s vibe.
