This was enjoyable. Act two is much stronger than act one, but overall it's a fun show with a fair bit going for it. The score is nothing special, but workable. The highlight is the circus performance elements. Felt very "American", not sure we'll see this one transfer over.

Agree, the show looks amazing and feels like old Broadway…it’s a solid show but let down by a non memorable score

I wish the show was more "Broadway" but the skills and talent of this cast is worth a visit.

I thought this was decent enough. Once again, I’ve missed the other versions, so didn’t even realise this was circus themed.
Some excellent acrobatics and puppetry, just the bits in between do leave you waiting for the next circus scene.
We had a gender switched part, so must be short of people.
I was at the back centre of the Mezzanine with a very cheap ticket. I prefer further forward, but the row in front was almost empty and it was a clear view. Downside was, I could see no end of phone checking, although the ushers were oblivious. Even some photographers.
There are so many ticket deals for this that I wouldn’t expect a transfer, or for this to stay open for much longer. Worth it for some of the circus tricks if you find a cheap ticket.

Other than the score which is unfortunately totally forgettable, this show should be a hit, the circus aspect is done in ways that are theatrical and innovative, and the performers are all simply terrific. The staging by Jessica Stone is a world away from her amazing work on Kimberly Akimbo but just as effective. Like some other musicals this season, it's not doing gangbusters at the box office - but it should be able to find an audience. Certainly a national tour is in order.

The next tenant for The Imperial is already in place.....but yes, a tour might be possible.

Any clues for new stuff that’ll be open by October with this & Tommy closing? Most Bway shows planning for an opening by end of 2024 will have likely already been announced/booked theatres. So whatever is next at The Imperial would likely have a March/April opening to make the Tony cut-off and there are several shows still circling/looking for the right theatre. A source told me which show was targeting the Imperial but I have forgotten which one it was..... SMASH is still planned for the season but has not yet booked a theatre so that might have been it. THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES and MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL are also possible.

It's not doing badly at all. The Imperial is a barn to fill. And they need to replace their leading man by early September, so if they cast a popular Broadway performer that should shift some tickets through the lean fall months before the holiday season (anyone but Tveit, luckily he's back at the red mill).
Notebook looks like it's next on the chopping block, but it may benefit from the summer tourist trade.

There haven't been as many imminent post-Tony closures as I expected this year.
