I see Kevin Spacey has been cleared of all charges. Maybe that will allow him to do some film and stage work again but somehow I doubt it.

Kevin has always been one of my favourite actors and he was cleared by a court of law.
I'd say if he was cleared he deserves to resume his career but it may not be that simple.

I personally would love to see him back on stage/film as he is one of my favourite actors, who has acted in some of my favourite movies ever made. Glengarry Glen Ross, K-Pax, The Usual Suspects, Seven, American Beauty and dozens more - it’s like listening to an Elton John concert, hit after hit after hit after hit.

Headline and sub-hed:
Despite Acquittal, Kevin Spacey Faces Uphill Battle for Hollywood Roles
The actor, who was cleared of sexual assault charges in Britain this week, has parts in two small upcoming films. Yet his tarnished public perception makes starry roles unlikely.

We are not going to entertain speculative comments about the case, those involved or comments about what might have happened. He has been found not guilty. There is nothing further to discuss on that.
Please keep further comments about the actor and his work, past or future.

Well said BurlyBear, lets see what happens to Kevin professionally or what gets reported. I'm sure Kevin just needs a break now and will look at future roles in due course if he wants to.

I’d love to see Spacey back on stage again. I loved his time at the OV. I hope the UK theatre industry welcomes him back.

Well he hides it well as I was at the Oliviers the night he decided to sing. To say it was dreadful is an understatement.

I can remember him singing on a Westlife TV special but so too did Katie Price. Plus he played Bobby Darrin in a film and sang in that.

Plus he played Bobby Darrin in a film and sang in that. Yes he did. I also saw him on some sort of Parkinson-type interview (it actually may have been on Parkinson) where he sang and I remember being very impressed at the time and thinking 'why hasn't he been cast on a film musical?' He also does impressions- like stand up stuff.

The 'Off the Fence' newsletter reports a meeting between Spacey and Trevor Dunn at the Colony Room after Spacey's acquittal: Nunn should cast him in his Uncle Vanya at the Orange Tree next year. I though the Spacey/Nunn Richard II at the Old Vic was fantastic, not everyone did but it was the best R-II I've seen. I suspect for a long time Nunn has been self-funding his productions, even when he was running the NT he put millions of his own money into a new play season there, so I think that he and Spacey can do pretty much anything they want from a financial perspective. (Incidentally Nunn is also the biggest individual donor the Labour Party has ever had).

Never knew Sir Trevor had been the biggest doner to the Labour Party, his net worth is listed at at a couple of million pounds.
Him and Kevin doing a project together would be interesting.

Money is the last taboo in entertainment, people will tell the public everything about themselves except how much money they get paid. Nunn is worth way more than that, his income just from Cats where he got a % of the box office (it grossed $2 billion worldwide so you only need a small % of that to be rich) takes him higher than that and he also gets royalties as the lyricist of "Memory" from that show every time it is sung and there have been 600+ recorded versions of it. That's just one show. Just for comparison Sean Lock the comedian, who I liked but who only appeared on a few TV shows and did the odd live tour, left £4 million when he died.

I had forgotten about Sir Trevor's royalties from Cats and a very small percentage mounts up over the years if he had the same sort of deal as Michael Crawford got for Phantom. I doubt he'd be a person who would publicize his wealth and for all we know he could have donated the majority of his wealth to the Labour Party and left himself enough to live on.

I doubt he'd be a person who would publicize his wealth and for all we know he could have donated the majority of his wealth .... No doubt. When he was AD of the NT he put up £2.5 million of his own personal money to guarantee the Transformation season but he insisted it remained secret which I think it did until quite recently.

With Sir Trevor I was working on the theory he had a lot of years at RSC and NT so whilst the salary was good it wasn't as high as it could be in commercial theatre plus he worked a lot of years when the UK Tax rate was very high in the 1960's to late 1980's so he wouldn't have had the full career benefit of the more reasonable higher tax rates.

Further request.
Please imagine a situation where you were accused of a rape or a sexual assault. You went to court and were found not guilty, yet people on the internet carried on talking about you as if you might have done it.
This is not Twitter. Nobody on this forum knows more about the case than the jury who found him not guilty.
Further posts alluding to this will be not only be removed but warning points will also be issued.

For the people who did want to dicuss his work, sorry. Some people on this forum don’t seem to understand a simple request, and I’m not prepared to carry on repeating myself.
