Based on that dance off Angela should have been saved. I think it’s quite an outrage. That was not an American smooth.

Don't you love it when the they run up the stairs for to be interviewed and in his broken English, Vito tried to explain his method of training with metaphors and it becomes so convoluted, and given that she's working to a time frame from the producers whispering in her ear, that Claudia quickly looses interest. Tonight was another classic example of Vito stumbling over his words, enthusiastically trying to express himself!

Just watching the results show now…and just thinking how refreshing it is to see Texas so non Strictly-fied!

Vito's destruction of tuna mayo pasta salad was another series highlight. Celebrity MasterChef awaits.

If Layton isn't doing the proper steps then it is up to Nikita or whoever is choreographing their routines and it should be pointed out. Layton has been dancing the female roles so its not an issue with it being a same sex couple. But i still feel if they should be given freedom there then all couples should be.

I think Nikita has been pulled up on it already, that's why he was put out last week. Every week it's the same, a show dance. Most weeks I have no idea what dance he is doing.
Shame for Angela, but the first half of the cha cha was awful - that weird limbo bit?
Bobbie is the weakest for me, but he was never going to go this week.

I love seeing more experimental choreography within a traditional dance form. And while I can't claim to be any sort of expert on what the 'proper steps' are, if Layton & Nikita DIDN'T dance a proper Argentine Tango, Quickstep, Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, etc - then whatever they did dance was spectacular to watch and I loved it. I think Nikita should be applauded for his creativity and ambition this season. Bonus points for bringing pole dancing to early evening prime-time, of course. Layton has been dancing the female roles so its not an issue with it being a same sex couple. But i still feel if they should be given freedom there then all couples should be. I doubt that most m/f couples would want that freedom. It's going to be easier for male pros (Nikita included) to stick to the lead role that they know and teach the follow part to their partner. L&N experimented with switching lead & follow in their Tango but have been told Layton is better at following so it makes sense to concentrate on that (no other contestant is expected to learn both). As I recall John/Jojo did a bit of both lead and follow, but they have similar sized builds. Nikita is taller, broader and (I'd guess) heavier than Layton so it's obviously going to be easier to do lifts and such that way round.

I was so disappointed to hear Bobbie is dancing to the same old number for Musicals week - Dirty Dancing.
Every year.

Some hideous costumes this week. Annabelle, that yellow polka dot thing, dreadful. Ellie, the skirt part of that red dress looked so cheaply made. Layton… just vile. All three distracted me from the dancing which is presumably the last thing they’re supposed to do.
Re the viewer voting share, proof yet again that people don’t like Layton for whatever reason. So given that he’s likely to be in the bottom two again who needs to be there with him to have him sent home?

Ellie is about the only person who would beat him in the dance off.
Much will now depend on dance choice. Layton has Charleston left in his list of possibles and that has few rules (other than the key foot action) and lots of scope for tricks. That will play to his strengths and give Shirley less scope to comment on the lack of basics.
I said from the start that he was likely to be the Ashley Roberts of the season and it does look like that is his trajectory.
He is clearly a talented dancer. But Ellie is the classic journey celeb and that is usually what excites the voters.
I can't see beyond it being Ellie, Layton and one other in the final. But that third person could be any of the others depending on the dance/music choices.

I'd been rooting for a Layton, Ellie and Angela final myself. But now that's not happening I'm not sure who I'd prefer as my third finalist. I think Nigel is overrated by his fans and beyond his Wk1 Paso he's never really stood out from the pack for me. Annabel is technically good but (agree with Craig) very expressionless. I honestly question whether she'd still be in without her Strictly story. Damn...does that leave me backing Bobby for the final?? I think I'm backing Bobby.

Ellie and Layton for the final.
Then probably Nigel but Annabel would be fine.

There is little doubt Ellie will win, Layton will probably get to the final plus Annabel.

I tend to go for who I want to see Show Dance, and Nigel's would probably be the best one to see along with Ellie and Layton.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Annabel gets there, will this be the first time that Johannes has been in the final?

I think Ellie's going to win, unless something cataclysmic happens.
