I doubt Sierra would want to do this in Paris. Paris is more or less a graveyard for musicals, and I can't see this being a stepping stone in her career. In fact, I think it's high time she distances herself from Phantom once and for all-anywhere in the world. I am sure ALW confirmed this on his interview with EP on Radio 2 today but I was only half listening.

If this is a thing I think I might just go.. but don't want to book a ticket until the cast is announced.. when do you think that'll be?

i think she is massively overrated and i don't get it how she has to be Chritine for every milestone, as if there are no other actresses out there and she is too old for Christine
sometimes i think, without ALW handling her roles, she would not have much to do sometimes O:) i will never get the hype around her isn't she tired of always playing the same role?

She is definitely Andrew's sweetheart, and I to was sick of her getting all the big performances. But she's such a lovely person (at least her social media presence is), and I was just listening to the 25th the other day, which led me to watch the 25th again, and she's a sweet Christine too- I couldn't remember why I disliked her portrayal so much the last time I saw it (a few years ago) I still think there are better Christines (both in singing and acting) but she is definitely an exciting choice for me because I never had the chance to see her live before. (BTW I had the exact same thoughts on Ramin and really liked him this time around... it's a hard choice for me between Paris and Phantom to London and Murder Ballad ) But I do understand not liking her- I remember not liking her too. Edit: sadly, I think there isn't too much work for sopranos out there- but I would like to see her getting something new and exciting for her next role

Sierra confirmed. With Andrew boldly stating: "she’s the best, the best Christine certainly" funny ? for me she is the worst ? Don't worry about it. She'll only be the best until the next one comes along.

can't even watch the 25th anniv. DVD with her ,since i saw that, i always call her "Darth Vader" Christine, with all that breathing i can't concentrate on anything other than that while watching this i know she may have been sick, but then her understudy should have played and i heard other audios, where her breathing is also sooo distracting - not even saying anything about her "diction" (is that the english word for it?) If she can't even sing normally in english, do i want to know how her french will sound?

Questions: - Anyone know if the blocking/costumes/direction will be the original or the 25th tour inspired? (anyone know what they're doing in Germany in that sense?) -Anyone know French? lol particulrly what this means? (Google translate is not helpful, nor is turning the site english- it just says the same) CARRE OR BARCLAYS Barclays Prestige 250,00 € CARRE OR BARCLAYS Plein Tarif 105,00 € both those prices give me the same seat in the theatre- was wondering what the extra 145 euro is for.. -Anyone ever been to this theatre before (Théâtre Mogador)? is the stage high? (I would assume it might because in the pictures the venue look HUGE, but all top priced give me row B). Is there a stagedoor? -Anyone want to come with? anyway- hope someone knows

I used to, but still have a rough understanding I've even seen Avenue Q in Paris a few years ago - in French. particulrly what this means? (Google translate is not helpful, nor is turning the site english- it just says the same) CARRE OR BARCLAYS Barclays Prestige 250,00 € CARRE OR BARCLAYS Plein Tarif 105,00 € both those prices give me the same seat in the theatre- was wondering what the extra 145 euro is for.. Here's what I found for Phantom: www.thephantomoftheopera.com/paris/billetterie/offres-prestige/Prestige seems to be a VIP package that includes a personal hostess, parking space, programme, glass (?) of champagne, gourmet snacks in the interval, a souvenir gift and a backstage visit. -Anyone ever been to this theatre before (Théâtre Mogador)? is the stage high? (I would assume it might because in the pictures the venue look HUGE, but all top priced give me row B). Is there a stagedoor? Nope. -Anyone want to come with? I might be interested. anyway- hope someone knows Hope that helps a bit.

Thank you so much Michael! I cannot, for the life of me, figure out my way around that website. A backstage tour is intresting, but i can't justify that much money right before the semster start :/ I'm going early/ mid october and if any knows anything about the theatre- do tell!

The "Carre d'Or" (Golden Quarter) is generally what Premium Seats are here. My guess is that those "Prestige" packages are more aimed at the gentlemen taking their mistresses or even wives out or some business partners.
I've never been at the Mogador as it's owned by Stage Entertainment who use it to recycle the same shows that are done all over Europe, but judging by the photos it's a nice theatre. And obviously it will have a stage door, where else would performers and crews enter. If you want to ask for it, it's "L'entrée des artistes".
One thing you should be aware of in Paris is that ushers expect a tip. When entering the auditorium you will be led to your seats and 1 Euro (per person) is expected as a thank you. If you don't cough up, you'll get pretty rude stares, so have a coin or two ready. It's one of the big mysteries in Parisian theatres but as they say "when in Rome..."

Thank you so much for the tour link (and everything else)- I see it doesn't book until Dec. though I looked at the pictures again- it doesn't look that big, but I do think I'll treat myself to a nice seat upfront for 90 eur. Do you have any tips for the Garnier? i'm thinking of maybe seeing an opera or a ballet there too (to complete the phantom trip ha) and I see they have tickets for 40 eur and under- have you ever been?

No unfortunately I haven't. Whenever I am in Paris, I end up finding "better" things to do. And by better I don't mean in terms of quality, just in terms of personal preferences - thus musicals. However, having decided to skip Phantom in Paris, I did also decide to join a backstage tour of the Palais Garnier on the same trip (I'm going early December to see the Notre Dame de Paris revival, the two new shows Le Rouge et le Noir and Timeo and thanks to CG on the Loose here on the forum 42nd Street at the Chatelet). Those tours happen daily and you get a good look around, so I think that'll do just fine. You even get an audioguide to listen to in English: www.operadeparis.fr/en/visits/palais-garnier/groups-and-professionals/guided-tours-of-public-areas

That's so funny about the ushers. Now you're telling me... when I saw Avenue Q at the Theatre Bobino in 2012, I didn't know about this and, thus, didn't tip them. But it's good to know - even though I'm perfectly fine with finding my seat myself (not sure if that's an option though).

I wish you you hadn't mentioned the breathing. It's been hard enough trying to take my focus off the 'Swedish' accent

It's been hard enough trying to take my focus off the 'Swedish' accent was that really supposed to be a swedish accent? oh goodness, i am fan of some swedish actors/actresses and they def. don't talk like that ))) hahaha it is true, i am not her biggest fan ,you can call it that - not that she is soooooo bad, but she is an "ok"-Christine, nothing overly great - just because she was on the DVD 70% percent of the Phantom-World seems to think she is the only able Christine out there, sooo overrated - there are so many who are better, but don't get the time of day because she can't let go of a role she really is too old for now and i don't get it how you would want to play the same role over and over and over... i for myself would be sick of it, just getting reduced to one role
