The only thing I've heard of it is that Gillian Lynne is implementing new choreo to Masquerade.
That would be really exciting if Sierra is attached- she's so lovely. Would consider a trip to paris- it's right before school starts here!
Does anyone if it's going to be in English or in French?

I thought this was a French-language production?

Never heard this Sierra rumour - when will the cast for this be announced?
2 Christines (Heidi Karlsson and Rachel Anne Moore) of Hamburgs LND have been to Paris recently, maybe one of them is in it too?

The casting call for this is in French... I think it would mean the production is too but I don't know.. Anyway the casting call is for pretty much all the roles (inc. Phantom/ Christine)

Even though I did learn French at school for five years, it's pretty much non-existant right now. However, I really like the sound of French, so I think I'll have to consider a trip to Paris this fall autumn.

Does Sierra speak French?

Does Sierra speak French? I'm not sure, but I think there have been instances of actors/actresses learning the score/book phonetically and performing without really knowing the language (I can't think of Phantom examples, but on the Les Mis symphonic recording Eponine is sung by Kaho Shimada- a Japanese actress who, at the time, didn't speak English)

There is also the example of Elizabeth Welch, playing in Oberhausen in German, although not speaking german btw my bank account is hoping for Sierra, so i don't have to travel to Paris lol Stockholm was expensive enough

The whole production is in German so he learnt the score/book without actually understanding the words. It's quite common over here to have performers who don't speak the language sing/act in German (sometimes the results are dreadful)

I can't envision the French accepting foreign performers singing the score parrot-fashion in French. Germany/Austria are the ONLY countries in the world who let that happen all the time to the detriment of the audience who often can't understand a word the performers are singing. Needless to say that the performers often can't transport feelings properly either because they don't know what exactly they are singing.
Casting for the French production has not been announced yet, but they've auditioned around 450 singers for the lead roles.
The tweet regarding Sierra sounds more like it will be some sort of 30th anniversary concert along the lines of the 25th anniversary concert. Maybe Cam Mack has been able to get hold of the Palais Garnier for a one-off or something. But I really can't imagine them letting an American performer do the regular show in Paris for half a year in the lead.
I'm going to Paris in late autumn for the Notre Dame de Paris revival and a few other French shows but consciously decided to skip Phantom because it's exactly the same tired old production as everywhere else. I wish they'd done something different there.

I doubt Sierra would want to do this in Paris. Paris is more or less a graveyard for musicals, and I can't see this being a stepping stone in her career. In fact, I think it's high time she distances herself from Phantom once and for all-anywhere in the world.

Just watching the RAH production.
What is that weird accent Sierra is using in the dialogue bits?

Just watching the RAH production. What is that weird accent Sierra is using in the dialogue bits? Was this Oxford or Cambridge then? Seriously though I think it was an attempt at a Swedish accent

Just watching the RAH production. What is that weird accent Sierra is using in the dialogue bits? Yeah the accent- but her strange vowels and L's when she sings lol... Love her though. Was just listening to the 25th the other day- that ORCHESTRA. Man that music should always be played by a 100 piece

^ Yes on her weird accent. I guess it's her way of doing a classic period accent?
My favorite Christine is Claire Moore. Gorgeous singing and extremely overlooked.

I really would like to like Rebecca Caine, but she comes across as a bit flat at times.
