Some exciting things on here. Sophie Treadwell's Machinal directed by Richard Jones (I have fond memories of the 1993 National Theatre production by Stephen Daldry - what's he doing now?) with Fiona Shaw in October/November. Britten's The Turn of the Screw in December, directed by Isabelle Kettle who did the excellent Dido and Aeneas last year. A Deborah Warner project early next year, no more details. Plus some song recitals which sound great, if you like that sort of thing (and I do): Ian Bostridge singing Benjamin Britten is the highlight there.

Thanks. Fwiw, I'm more excited about Bath - and Bristol - now I've twigged the Elizabeth Line goes straight to Reading (in seemingly no time), and you can book a cheap online train ticket for the rest i.e. pretty painless (tip: booking trains NOT to/from London termini always so much cheaper - so Reading <> Bath)
Bit tight getting back, though; maybe a matinee followed by a potter.
Fiona Shaw always interesting ..

Nothing on the TRB website says that she will be in this new production.

Surprising for a Deborah Warner production not to include Fiona Shaw in some way - she was a pre-recorded presence in the Tempest last season. I remember in Warner's "Julius Caesar" she even played Portia which is a very minor part of 16 lines. They used to be a couple of course, when they were I once sat behind them in the audience at the Old Vic - they easily qualified for the "Bad Behaviour at a Show" thread.

My apologies. Fiona Shaw was in the Daldry one. Has the Edit function changed - now it seems you only have a few minutes to change things. If any mod could change that too, I'd be happy.

As far as I'm aware, the Edit function has always been time-limited if using a desktop. The 'secret' to editing is to use a mobile if possible.
I'm reluctant to edit the original post now, as I would then have to delete most of the thread.

The Deborah Warner project that was going to be part of this has been postponed for some reason. Means there's a lot of time in February to mid-March where nothing is on at the Ustinov (January seems empty too). A shame - I'm sure there's a good reason; there always is. Would be good if something could be found to replace it. You can get your ticket refunded or wait for when it is ready.
