Could @sohoplace be its ideal West End venue?

Could @sohoplace be its ideal West End venue? @sohoplace's shows are inhouse.

That poster is god awful.
Hmm... seems like an odd choice of material for McKellen and Allam. Not exactly something I'd want to see them in but I've never seen them perform onstage before. I guess I'll buy a ticket just so I can finally say I have.

It is a typical BK poster design. Incredibly dated.

Well I have to say as an avid dog lover and Ian McKellen fan I am already sold. Imagining it will be quite an immediate transfer due to the two wee bath run.

This has Theatre Royal Haymarket written all over it I'm not sure the Theatre Royal Haymarket is the ideal place for witty and poignant, tbf. I don't know the writer and having googled him I think he may well not be ready for the sort of exposure a big London venue entails.

I'm in if there will be actual dogs on stage.

I didn't realise that this was written by Ben Weatherill and I saw his play Jellyfish at the National Theatre so am glad he is getting more exposure too. If this is anything similar to Jellyfish then it could be a gem of a play.

The poster looks like a bad direct-to-DVD movie from the 2000s!

Whatever the premise of the play anything with Mckellen and Allam in it is going to attract my custom. We must enjoy the former, in particular, whilst we can. Seen both on them on stage several times and they're both top-notch actors.

Theatre Royal Windsor 9 June - 22 July. I'd have been pretty annoyed if I'd planned a special trip to Bath to see the pre-London run and then hear the announcement of an earlier run somewhere else...

Will this have actual dogs in it ? I saw Allam in The Cherry Orchard with a real dog - it wouldn’t stop barking and he picked it up and nearly strangled it.
