Just to echo an earlier post, there's some nice dynamic pricing going on with this play at the moment for anybody who fancies paying slightly less.

I saw this on Friday from a reduced premium seat in Row C. It was fair value but I’d like to see it again from further back as it did feel like some moments were lost by being so close to the stage.
I loved it. I binged the entirety of the series in the run up to going to see it - and I would recommend others do the same. I fear I would’ve been totally lost without knowledge of Season 4.
I thought it all tied together really nicely and obviously both answers questions but leaves a lot open for Season 5 to wrap up.

Anyone else get a feeling this is underperforming at the moment? Seeing a LOT of ticket offers on social that would be unexpected from something expected to be as big as I think they hoped.

I think they’re in need of some national promotion to be honest. Most people when I was telling I was going to see it last week had no idea that a play even existed. I’m getting a lot more social media adverts than ever before too.
I’m surprised Netflix haven’t thrown together a 30min “behind the scenes” documentary yet. Put it up there and it can act as both a bridge for content between seasons 4-5 and promotion for the play.

During my planning of my London trip this one wasn’t on my list of shows to see as I haven’t seen the tv series, but with some recent posts from members in the same boat and still giving this one really positive reviews, thought I would take a punt on this one and I ended up getting a great seat from TKTS in the Dress Circle (G21) for £33 for today’s matinee. A great view that provided a nice cinematic feel to the show whilst still being close enough to the stage to see faces clearly. Despite a great view, those seats for a 3 hr run time really are not most comfortable to sit in and I certainly was happy to stretch my legs at the interval.
As for the show itself, I was really impressed with it and despite not having any prior knowledge going into it, I still had a great afternoon watching it (I certainly felt I got full value out if my ticket walking out after the show) and the story was still enjoyable, engaging and made sense though I probably would of got more out if it having seen the series before hand. I thought it was well paced over the 3 hours with a terrific cast on stage.
Where this one was a big win for me was in the technical aspects of the show. Right from that stunning opening scene with boat, the SFX really were top class stuff and along with a fantastic sound, lighting and video design that really gave me that wow factor this afternoon.
A great start to my birthday weekend. Rating 4⭐️

Yeah, few other people have noticed Shadow Seats are gone now too. The info is still on their website. Perhaps it's a temporary pause for summer? Also could be a disagreement with TodayTix of some kind, who knows. I hadn't thought ST was selling that well so idk why they would stop the lottery.

The first trailer for the show has been released - but as a word of warning - there are pretty major spoilers in it.

Won’t show it to my friend who will see the play for the first time in June. I think they show everything that makes the play worth watching.

Went to see today’s matinee performance at the charming Phoenix Theatre.
What a spectacle! Louis McCartney was on as Henry Creel and really is the star of the show. This guy really gives his all and made me believe him from start to finish.
What I really liked about the show were the special effect and clever usage of the stage and the revolve. It really looked like you were watching an episode of Stranger Things but with an extra twist.
The story sometimes felt a little bit slow and some parts of the show could use a little trimming to make it speed up a little.
My husband only saw a few episodes from season one but was able to follow the story.
I would definately recommend people to see this. Whether you like the tv-show or never payed attention to it. The show is worth spending your time and money on.

I finally saw this on the Saturday matinee. Rush tickets are quite easy to get and I ended up three from the end on the front row. The stage is quite high, so the view is limited for some of the action towards the end of the row. I'd avoid the two seats at the very end as I'd imagine they are even more restricted. I did feel sorry for the girl in the seat next to me. She was shorter and I don't think she saw a lot.
I've still not seen the TV show, although I have an idea of the general premise. It's something I've always planned to watch but never had time. I don't think you need any knowledge, but I have to say the end wasn't all that satisfactory as I presume it leaves things very open to lead to the TV show.
This is rather loud for my taste and there are horror scenes. There are some nice musical theatre references and segments, which answered the question I had about why they cast so many musical theatre actors. No Patrick Vaill, unfortunately, but it was good to see Alex Young in a starring role. I think most of the leads were on, but I gave up trying to find a cast board.
Overall, I'm glad I saw this and there some good performances, but I think I'd only go back after watching the TV show.

I made the mistake of booking the end seat on Row A in the stalls. The view was terrible and I missed everything at the back of the stage. I ended up moving to the standing area in the interval and then I could see a lot more.

Cast board is on a tv screen by the bar when you enter the theatre after ticket checks.

Saw the show yesterday again. Had a nice reduced premium seat in row D.
Callum Ross was on as Henry Creel. He was really, really good but it’s not easy if you’d seen the out of the world performance from Louis McCartney before. But not fair to compare. Especially at the end he delivers.
There were two remarkable mistakes and at this point it may contain minor spoilers!
At the beginning it was fairly easy to see how they brought the huge set piece on stage. The light was on at the moment and everybody in the audience could see how it works. So they ruined a key moment at the beginning. And it made no sense anymore.
The second time, you could see a stage hand do „magic“ before someone broke through the laboratory ceiling… Such things shouldn’t happen in such a production.

I was also there yesterday for my 4th visit - was sat in B11 which is a fantastic seat, IMO (due to the opening scene and the interaction in the 2nd act..) with the reduced price of £39 on TodayTix which I booked a few months ago. I also though Callum was a great Henry but not on par with Louis, I'm hoping they can get a really strong cast for the 2nd year. We also had Max Harwood on as Bob and I have to say.. I didn't think he was great but maybe I'm just too used to Chris Buckely's performance of the role. I didn't actually see these mistakes in the front row but maybe I just wasn't paying a lot of attention lol

Chris Buckley is way funnier and I really liked his performance last time. I brought my friend because I always talked about this one actor he has to see. So I wouldn’t talk about the other who was off. But he enjoyed it so it was fine for me to.

Lots of sudden really loud unexpected noises/jump scares? Or just loud sound effects and a loud show. Hate the former, don't mind the later. Might be worth it to see the spectacle everyone is talking about.

I went to see it last night, with no knowledge whatsoever of the series, and I really liked it. It is very dark (which will not come as a surprise to those knowing the series) and it took me a moment to adapt to the accents, but the special effects are great and I like the blend of 1950s high school movies and the unpredictable supernatural element. The only downside was that I was sitting next to a teenager who had clearly been taken hostage and brought to see the play as a punishment for some unspoken crime because he kept eating, complaining, moving on his seat, and checking his phone. I nearly asked for help from Henry Creel...
