40 years of Madonna, all those comments at the start that she would be a one hit wonder and that we should follow the better examples of Michael Jackson and Whitney! Anyone get tickets for one of the current four O2 gigs? Cost of average seats us around £400 plus fees but range from 47 to 1300 and all gone it seems.
Love the all the tweets complaining about the costs but then they consider the tickets an essential and have brought them.
Happy to give this a pass this time, good memories of the rebel heart tour and previous times saw her and while she always does do a spectacular show I am guessing the videos and interludes will be even greater this time during the show and will be surprised if it's her last tour.

Got one ticket for the Saturday show. Paid less than the maximum but more than the minimum. The ticket prices are outrageous but everyone has a choice. From a business point of view things are only too expensive if nobody buys them - clearly her marketing team knew what they were doing .
Don’t get me started on Ticketmaster and their “platinum” tickets though:

Got in the queue at 20 seconds past 10am and there were 7000 in the queue ahead of me. That went down fairly fast but when I got onto the site I was shocked to discover that my £350 budget per ticket (which is bloody ridiculous to start with but me and my pal think it will be the last chance to see her doing greatest hits) got us seats high on the first tier right up by the main stage. We sat in a similar position for Rebel Heart in Manchester and it was rubbish. We were terribly disappointed. We paid £180 each for those.
We’re now going to see the show in Lisbon. For £220 each we are on the floor standing near to the catwalk. We’ll have a lovely weekend in one of my most fave cities and she will be the icing on the cake rather than the entire point of the trip.
London prices are ridic but yes, people are paying so…

I was looking for somewhere to go for an autumn break and have settled on Barcelona which is a place we love, and have picked up great seats for a show there at roughly half the price of London.

New UK date December 5th now announced. So 5 nights to 100k people all at hyper prices in the cavernous O2 seemly down to the greatest hits tag added. 2020 and some nights it seemed there were tickets on the door for the madame X London dates even with all the cancelled nights. The lady still has potential

The lady still has potential Not really, most of her stans go to multiple gigs if not all of them and the scalpers and dodgy ticket agencies are doing the rest. I doubt the general public are getting much of a look in, it is only the above pushing the sales up. Plenty of seats still left for the new date, the scalpers may end up getting stung bad on this one...

Going to one of the Amsterdam dates, much cheaper prices for good seats and a chance to wander round the markets before Christmas.

Don’t get me started on Ticketmaster and their “platinum” tickets though: Yeah. Technically I work for Live Nation/Ticketmaster. The dynamic pricing on platinum happens because people are willing to pay through the nose. If the high priced tickets didn't sell at all, then it would affect prices and they'd come down. As far as the charges, the "service charge" goes to the act. The "facility fee" goes to the theatre/arena. But Ticketmaster gets blamed, when it's just a way of creating more revenue for the act and the host.

They charge top whack in London - because they can. It's still seen as being the most affluent city in Europe, as far as what people will spend on entertainment.

6th and apparently final UK date goes on sale Wednesday.
Did have a look at what was left for the earlier dates and prices start around 750 before final fees and this is for the upper levels of the 02 and far back of the arena. Quite staggering the price people are paying for these shows. These are the Ticketmaster prices, resale ones for same areas were 750 to 1020.
(Did work out I could see a month's worth of ABBA voyage shows Vs one current Madonna ticket. might be the lowest prices at the ABBA arena but would still be closer to the stage than would be at the O2)
Very impressed all you guys who have booked. Holiday break and tickets in other countries for the concerts.
Know the show time is meant to be 8.30 and shows can run later there but does the 02 have any curfew times for concerts?

I believe there are 'penalty' rates which includes having to pay overtime for all the staff at the venue and for the O2 shopping centre itself. I went to Rebel Heart there and she was bang on time, but I think she'd been threatened from one end of the arena to the other that they'd just turn the power off on her if she went over time lol

Thanks for the O2 info that was one of the off putting reasons for going was the possibility of trying to get back to central London in the early hours if she did run late.
The rebel heart tour I saw in the central Birmingham arena and despite 8 on the tickets when you got it they had posters saying it would start at eleven. Three hours of a DJ with seemly one track and yelling Madonna every few minutes not the best mood setter but the concert was great when it did start and she was in good mood and form so was lucky in that respect as remember reading the Manchester gig before had been bad tempered.
While still resisting at present it seemed easy enough to get on the site to look at tickets for the last show so hopefully fans had a better chance of tickets at slightly better pricing.

I was at that manchester gig. We lost the final third of the show because the arena just told her to FO and switched the lights on. She’s dreadfully disrespectful to her audience with on stage times. Karma though. The day will come when she’s begging people to turn up for an 8pm start.

Which also reminds me of the Grace Jones Hurricane tour at the Apollo in Manc where she was refused permission to have lasers bouncing off her mirrored bowler hat for elf and safety. She explained this to the audience and described Manchester council as “boring” 😄

Our venue puts door time on all the tickets with music normally starting an hour later, but that doesn't mean the acts hit the stage or do their meet and greets on time. With us, it always seems to be the hip hop artists that keep their fans waiting the longest, at least the up and coming acts. Snoop Dog is on time. Go figure.

Karma though. The day will come when she’s begging people to turn up for an 8pm start. Not to mention the people that actually work for her. Madame X started 6 hours late in some places, imagine being a dancer and having to go onstage at 1am in the morning and perform properly after sitting around the venue for 10 hours. I'm done with her, her tours are far too patchy to even be guaranteed a good show. MDNA was unwatchable as was Madame X. Add that to her total disrespect for the audience and immoral pricing and I'm out. I'll buy the blu-ray from Poundland in a few years x

From memory the DJ came on at 7/7.30 and then she came on around 8.15 for Rebel Heart.
