Hi, there where a lot of rumors for a new version of Aida. There was already some talking about it in the chat for the possible west end run, but Disney's Aida is having its first previews starting on 12-04-2023 in the AFAS Circus theatre the Hague. Schele Williams wil direct the new production, and Bob Crowely wil once again do the costumes and set design. Also returning is David Henry Hwang for a new version of the script. One of the main differences with the original production is that it will be an black cast. The first cast members for the three main role will be: Gaia Aikman as Aida (TLK/Tina) Naidjim Severina as Radames (KinkyBoots/TLK) and April Darby as Amneris (TBG/SisterAct and also Aida in the concert version of 2016). It was also announced that the dutch production will be the example for future productions to come. Am beyond excited for this.
