Is it too early to with everyone a Merry Christmas? I mean it's only at the end of next week.
What a year we've all had. we have had and amazing, long drawn out summer.
Such political turmoil, so many Prime Ministers it's embarrassing. Even one in 'The Jungle'.
Postal strikes, lawyers on strike, NHS nurses on strike, baggage handlers on strike, train strikes and a cost of living crisis. Most recently the weather- freezing!
We have also had some wonderful theatre film adaptations.
But through it all, we have had the one thing the draws us all together- live performance: plays, opera, musical and comedy. And this board in which we can all express our thoughts and opinions.
So, firstly, thank you to all of the moderators who routinely keep us in line
As as we all start our mass exodus to get away and be with loved ones, please be safe and travel well.
As my parents are in Australia, my sister who is also here in London will come round and with my flatmate who is from India will have a 'orphans Christmas'.
So, Merry Christmas to all. See you on the other side in 2023.

Happy Christmas everyone. Thanks anthony40 for setting the ball rolling. Hope we can all get out and about, even go the theatre! But if on your own, open the choccie liqueurs and come along onto the board for a bit of company and a moan about the telly.

Happy Christmas everyone! It’s been a funny old year again hasn’t it! “Back to normal“ but somehow we will never get “back to normal”, particularly at work, where 2 years of alternative reality have meant that our office has gone from 20 people a day to maybe 5 on a good day…..and all the social implications that that involves (it’s nearly always the managers who stay at home to work!). Glad to have got back to some theatre. Amazing how you forget how to do all the travel etc! But it’s all coming back! Might actually have guests this Christmas….daughter is due to come. I may have forgotten how to socialise! And cook…..wish me luck!

And a Merry Christmas to all of you too. Mine has been a bit of a messy year as due to have an operation but due to various reasons, mostly NHS errors I am afraid to say, I am still waiting, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for the New Year. It has meant that I have spent the whole year moving theatre bookings around, cancelling, rebooking, rescheduling etc. But, in spite of this, I have still managed to to do a lot more than I was expecting. My Christmas will be a quiet one, as usual. But the good thing about Christmas alone is that you can do what you want, when you want and even take a nap after the Kings speech without offending anyone. So I hope you all have a wonderful time and look forward to chatting to you all, finding out the gossip and generally reliving theatre experiences with you.

Merry Christmas everyone
It's been a crazy year with crisis after crisis, and I think in many ways it's been harder/more chaotic than 2020/21. It's been a rollacoaster, so many ups and downs and changes. And personally my life has definitely had more ups and downs than ever before.
Its crazy to think a year ago we were looking at possible more lockdowns, and even what 9 months ago we were still living with restrictions. Now life's pretty much back to 'normal' from a covid pov at least. It's everything else that's gone to sh*t

Merry Christmas to everyone and a healthy and happy New Year.
It's been an odd old year and my brother is still battling his cancer and has a new aggressive treatment to contend with in early January but he has been an absolute warrior.
Hope you all get a break and enjoy the festivities.

Merry Christmas to one and all - I've enclosed a list of some resources for people who may need it. Also, a huge thanks to our mods for keeping us in order and for making this place so lovely. Xx

I can't be the only one that sings the title of the thread as Shakin' Stevens?
Wishing it could be christmas day every day for one and all

Happy Christmas everyone. As always, it's been great...most of the time. The Mod team have been on top form this year. Lets do it all again in 2023.

For most of us here in the States, we are dealing with uncharacteristically bone-chilling sub-zero temps that have disrupted a lot of holiday travel, mine own included. So I am particularly grateful for online theatre streaming as the NT at Home will be in heavy rotation this holiday weekend with a little Taskmaster sprinkled in for good measure.

Merry Christmas from Sydney, where it is actually Christmas Day! Hot and humid, so turkey dinner can wait till tea time. But lots of mince pies, stollen and Quality Street to keep us going till then. My Christmas present to myself doesn't arrive till New Year, seeing Michael Sheen in Amadeus at the Sydney Opera House.

So far five subsidised theatres have emailed wishing me "Happy Holidays" demonstrating their on-going commitment to all things American. Happy Holidays to all anyway.

Wising everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I’m trying to currently entertain my 3 year old niece. I am not sure who is having more fun with her Christmas presents, her or me!

Merry Christmas everyone! Whilst it’s not the big family Christmas we’d planned as I’ve come down with the flu that’s doing the rounds, I’m still very grateful for the joy that the season brings 🙂

Malaga was 20c today and sunny so next year that's where I am heading to for Christmas. At least I'll have the hotel staff to speak to! Not being bah humbug! But I've not spoken to anyone today and made a turkey dinner for myself that I didn't enjoy. So why not swap it for paella and a bit of sun. 😀

Get yourself booked in for Spain next year, or maybe a cruise! Happy new year.

Malaga was 20c today and sunny so next year that's where I am heading to for Christmas. We have a friend who is in the south of Spain. Very tempting. Sorry your Christmas didn't go too well. Best wishes for the rest of the break and New Year.

Looks decent weather today, a bit of sunshine so get out and about if you can. I always say every year that we should go away for Xmas. Next year for sure.

We went away for Christmas in 2015, on a cruise. I can't say Christmas Day itself was brilliant, as the boat was bucking its way through the Bay of Biscay & half the passengers didn't manage to turn up for Christmas dinner, but once we got down to the Canary Islands & Madeira it was nice. I'm not someone who's that keen on sunshine but it was good to have a few days of more daylight. The New Year's Eve fireworks in Madeira were incredible. So those wanting to go away for Christmas - as long as you don't get seasick! - you could consider a cruise.
