I'm not a cruise person. I only need to get on a ship/boat and I start to feel queezy. Part of it is vertigo and part of it is, I'm sure, in the mind. I did manage a couple of Nile cruises years ago though. I'd rather be on firm ground.

alece10 I agree with you about it being partly in the mind, at least it certainly is for me. I went on a number of cruises in the several years before covid & although I was never seasick I sometimes felt slightly sick when it got rough just because I worried I would be seasick!

We went away for Christmas in 2015, on a cruise. I can't say Christmas Day itself was brilliant, as the boat was bucking its way through the Bay of Biscay & half the passengers didn't manage to turn up for Christmas dinner, but once we got down to the Canary Islands & Madeira it was nice. I'm not someone who's that keen on sunshine but it was good to have a few days of more daylight. The New Year's Eve fireworks in Madeira were incredible. So those wanting to go away for Christmas - as long as you don't get seasick! - you could consider a cruise. I once spent Xmas day in Las Vegas. It was just like every other day there.
