Have to agree with these recent comments. The original production was amazing, I saw it when it was still fresh and exciting and you could totally forgive the non existent plot because of the spectacle and talent on stage. The recent tour wasn't even a pale imitation of this and so poor it was the only time in 30+ years of theatre going that I've walked out of a show halfway through. So I will be watching with interest to see how this production goes. Judging by last night's performance at the Lottery Musicals Night, there's not much change...still the same old choreography.

I saw the original London production over 100 times from the beginning up until a few months after Mig left. I haven’t seen it since apart from a bootleg of the most recent UK tour (which was absolutely awful), but this new production tempted me to revisit a show that made me a lot of friends and memories. Luckily I hadn’t booked yet, because it’s lost all appeal for me now. Some things are best not revisiting to retain the memories. Also curious to know, are there any old members from the WWRY board on here? I saw the show quite a few times over the first 2ish years in London, the recent touring production was poor in comparison, but it did feel a touch closer to that London production than the last few tours. I was one of the first mods on the WWRY board, stopped visiting it after my last visit to London, so it would have been around 2 years after it went live.

Do the Coliseum do refunds? Ticket prices do not reflect the calibre or quality of cast announced - would expect or require better for a show like this.
(EDITED as initial comment made no sense.)

In your opinion. Not their's. You wanted a different cast but you bought the show. Its not a shirt you can return because you do not like the colour. You bought WWRY you got WWRY

I must endorse Ceebee’s pov here because in the past the Coliseums’ summer seasons have either been massive on spectacle (Bat) or cast with stars (Ball, Glenn Close etc). This is neither but is charging significantly more. Unless the design is mind blowing, and one of Little Mix is Scaramouche, I too would be after my money back.

Did they ever promise an A List cast?
If they did, you have a case - if they didn't then you may have to suck it up...

The original press release did promise a brand new production so IF it really is the touring set then there could be a case.
But based on the cast there isn't really.
They are damaging their reputation a bit though. I think people will be a lot more cautious in the future and the 'event' nature of their musicals has diminished

Brian’s quote includes a specific reference to ‘a completely new production’ so whilst I’m ok with the casting, I will be disappointed if you guys report that it’s the cheap touring set. We all know how big the Coliseum stage is, so the set needs to have impact! www.queenonline.com/news/we-will-rock-you-returns-to-londons-west-end

And if it's crap on the day perhaps I'll just heckle instead. Paying top dollar prices for karaoke dog'n'duck singers - total pi££take.

So is Ben Elton now the character that was originally called "Pop" played by Nigel Planer?

Looks that way. I think it was 'Cliff' on the last tour. Not a clue why it's been renamed to 'rebel leader' now, bit clunky.

I imagine Ben will be called Elton as in Elton John but they won’t announce it in any press releases.

…and assuming Glenn Adamson is the cover Galileo? There has to be some benefit to going from leading a ‘west end’ show to an ensemble role.

I specifically booked a night for Jenny O’ Leary, she was the main reason I liked the last production. Brenda Edwards just wasn’t a great KQ to me!!
