Yes, I saw it in Sydney. I'm not a huge fan of Chekov nor Cate Blanchett, but I would watch Richard Roxburgh read out the phone book! Why she is an excellent actor. Her performance in Blue Jasmine was something to be hold. And the fact she did this in a small theater company says something bout her.

Its just started previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre with Cate Blanchett in lead role. I know this is in New York. But has anyone seen it in the city or in Sydney?

It's an interesting one. I think it'll do well, just not as well as it has on Broadway. Mormon has the comedy aspect and the well-known names behind it. I just don't think a historical thing will do as well and it depends how well Lin becomes over here before the show opens. It already has a lot of great accolades to put on the poster but that won't necessarily keep it going for that long. The marketing and reviews will have a lot to do with it as well. Hamilton Thread???

The reason I am asking because neither Rent, A Chorus Line did really do that well in London.

I do think Broadway Theater is more diverse. All 4 Musical Theater Tony Winners were non white. I do feel when Leanne Jones who is a big girl needs to go the voice and has had a lack of roles there is this idea of skinny white people should be the only ones to cast. Diversity is always good . But is 9 shows that have non white ast members good or bad

Have to say i agree with her! I just dont get the obsession with eating whilst at the theatre or cinema. If you want to go for a meal go to a restaurant. Grrrrr Movies I think its fine but live theater not so much

While I completely agree with their standpoint and vision, it is really not done to speak to an audience member like that, who is just watching a show, probably paid for a ticket. If you ask me it's quite unprofessional and touchy to let yourself go that way. It was by no means the right place and moment to say thing like that. I agree
