Luke Bayer has been announced for Prom Queen at The Other Palace. Is he leaving or taking a LOA? It’s only for two performances I believe

Ticket sales are nearly always above 80% capacity. What makes you think the ticket sales are poor? 80% capacity doesn’t mean 80% gross potential... Correct, however the comment made was with regards to ticket sales, and given that the West End Grosses aren't published, it could have only been a reference to the physical number of tickets sold. I therefore responded with a post about capacity.

I'm fully expecting at least one of the replacements to be star casting in an attempt to boost ticket sales. Because despite the extension, the ticket sales aren't amazing for this, so hopefully a boost in sales will see it futher its life in the West End. Ticket sales are nearly always above 80% capacity. What makes you think the ticket sales are poor?

Just watched the WEL performance. Am not really on board with Luke as Jamie based on that. To me his voice didn't sound that great and the accent felt like it was getting in the way and was a distraction to me, unlike John's performance I saw in the show. That said, I'm sure hes good live. Try watching one of the videos that has been recorded from the audience. For some reason, with most of the performers, the soundboard audio on the official videos makes them sound a little off in places. I was surprised at how different some people that I’ve seen before, such as the kinky boots cast sounded on their recordings. I was much more impressed and found that they vocals sounded much closer to what I expected when I began watching videos which had the audio from the audience’s perspective.

People being rude to witches is really nothing new. Poor Alexia got the brunt of it. Just for her terrible crime of not being Kerry. This is above the level of being rude. If you take a look at some of the comments she leaves on videos, they are disgusting

Judging by the rehearsal pics it looks like Luke Bayer will be performing as Jamie at West End Live tomorrow

I just don't see Poppins going here, but if proven wrong then thats fine. I assumed it would go somewher bigger. Hopefully the cast are aware, because Natalie and Jordan have both said their new contracts are in Kinky Boots for the next year, taking them into June 2019. I'm sure the same kind of thing was said 2 years back, with someone stating they were pretty much certain it was going to close

The documentary is available to view in full on YouTube. 👠 Pretty sure this is the version where they've shifted the pitch up

Entered the TodayTix lottery, didn't win but have been offered £29.50 seats tonight, anyone taken up that offer and know what they're like? Do you know where they are?

Just be careful with entering card numbers. The theatre/ticket agency could find out and charge you full price! They can't just take money from your card if they've made the mistake...

When it first came to the west end I thought it would not do well as presumed it would be a bit niche so I am glad to be proved wrong. That's great news about the extension. With regard to the film is it going to be the musical or a film based on Jamie? I would have thought that it's the musical based on how they've worded the release

Fantastic to see a new British musical doing so well. Huge congratulations should go to all those involved, especially Sheffield Theatres for taking the risk in the first place!

Giles seems to be off a lot at the moment. Seems to have been off at least 2 shows every week for the past month or so. Any idea if these are 'scheduled' or not?

If that's the Tim Newman who understudied Huey in Memphis, he will be fantastic. I caught him as Huey and he was a fantastic actor and had an incredible voice. With regards to having 'names' in the show, I feel this show relies far more on having Cyndi Lauper's name attached to it, than it does on stunt castings (For London anyway). None of the London leads have ever been people that are really well known outside the theatre world. Killian wasn't even that big a name when he was cast. When shows tend to go on tour from London they more often than not seem to put names into them. Would have thought with it still running in London that they might have been even more likely to put a name into the tour. Wonder if the Lauren will be a name. Never caught Tim in Memphis but did see him in JCS last year. Think he would be a good choice. He had an amazing voice which I should imagine would be perfect for Charlie. This video was shared to his Facebook page when the show closed if you didn't get the chance to hear/see him: www.facebook.com/jletremy/videos/vb.100001066501178/994888043890070/?type=2&theater

Hearing that Tim Newman is going to be Charlie on the tour. Surprised as I half expected them to want someone more well known for ticket sales, especially as Duncan James and Matt Cardle were names in the mix not long back. Oh, I realise that, but when you do know then, at least for me, it does spoil it a bit. Though I suppose there is a certain irony that he's persecuting himself! Most shows multi role to some extent anyway. I mean, to think both Fiyero and Nessa are witch hunters at the start

I don’t remember that audio at all but I’m definitely about to scope it out If you need any pointers as to it’s whereabouts y then I’m pretty sure it was by a serial bootlegger that roams this board

www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/chris-jarman-wicked-west-end-cast_46562.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=15may2018Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's Chris Jarman will join the West End cast of Wicked as Doctor Dillamond this July, it has been announced. Jaden, Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose) and original cast member Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond) will all play their final performances on Saturday 21 July, with the new cast starting two days later. Well it's an incredibly ignorant viewpoint to take. People can walk again fairly quickly after spinal surgery but doing other things isn't possible for a significant length of time. OK so I admit, it may not be the best viewpoint to take, but let's flip it to another side, just to play devils advocate for a second. Sarah had/has back issues. Fair enough. She has to leave the show "temporarily" and have the understudy go on. Fair enough. She is gone for the show for over a year. A cast change has occured in this time, and she may not make it back until this next cast change where she allegedly plans to leave. In my opinion, the producers honestly should of had Rosa listed as the lead in the programme in that time, especially as they printed new programmes in the time she has been gone. I'm sure, and hope, they have paid Rosa accordingly, but Sarah can't just decide to return to work if she still has issues with her back. Her doctors would of ordered her to be off for a set period of time, and therefore the team at Wicked would know, if she is out of this show for six months, Rosa should get promoted to lead for that set period of time. If anyone I feel sorry for, it's really Rosa. And we can all say "oooh, I'm sure she's fine", but to be a main role in Wicked for over a year and not be credited as such, it's not fair. I agree with the fact that Rosa should have been billed as a full time lead, however recovery from surgery isn't always as clear cut as say '4 months off work' or whatever, it is based on the progress of the patient and the speed at which they are recovering.

Didn't realise you were an orthopaedic surgeon now! If you don't know what you're talking about then don't bother commenting. Never claimed to be love. Just an observation, and to be truthful, I don't think I'm the only one who has had this thought, I'm just the one saying it. Well it's an incredibly ignorant viewpoint to take. People can walk again fairly quickly after spinal surgery but doing other things isn't possible for a significant length of time.

I find it consistently interesting Sarah is unable to perform a show in a wheel chair, yet on social media she is out and about all the time. She gets listed as one of the main characters in one of London's biggest shows when she does nothing and Rosa constantly performs the role and never gets her deserved credit, not even a slip in the programme. I cannot help but give her the side eye, and if she doesn't return, Rosa has been screwed over this whole year. Because also, does Sarah get paid more than someone who is in the Ensemble? Because if so, then Rosa has been screwed over pay wise as well. Didn't realise you were an orthopaedic surgeon now! If you don't know what you're talking about then don't bother commenting.

Well, I've almost completely lost interest in Wicked and won't return until after a big cast change. The sad thing is, if it announced its closure, I wouldn't even care - never thought that'd ever happen. To be honest, I can’t see Les Mis, Phantom, Wicked or Lion King closing for another 5 years at least. They’re the big 4; the ones tourists love. And I can’t really imagine another show at the Apollo Victoria - especially now that it’s been made for Wicked (green seats, pink lighting - Pink goes good with green) Green carpets, green lighting, green drinks, you name it. The seating and carpets at the theatre are a nod back to the original decor from when it first opened. The lighting and drinks are things that can be changed for virtually no cost and can be seen at most theatres, regardless of how long the show is forecast to run

Strong hint at a transfer How does that hint of a a transfer? Because they said Goodbye for Now? That's hardly a strong hint LOL. Believe me I WANT THIS TO COME IN and my fingers are crossed Should imagine the #goodbyefornow followed by the wink emoji is quite a good indicator. Not sure why else you'd put a winking face in

By coincidence Sheffield Uni are doing Spring Awakening until Saturday this week if you’re in the area www.sutco.orgSaw it tonight. It's a fantastic production, the best piece of amateur theatre that I've seen.
