What on earth is the point of posting a teaser like that without actually naming the person? All it does it look as if you're taunting those of us on the board who aren't fortunate enough to have inside information (even if you didn't mean it in that way). And especially if you're only talking about rumours, then why not just name them? I'm sorry if that seems harsh, but these kind of posts really irritate me, and don't really contribute anything to the discussion other than causing frustration! My absolute favourite is when performers post how they are very busy with a very exciting new project at the moment and they can't wait for us to hear it. Fan messages in response "what is it?" "Sorry I can't say" Well, why say anything in the first place? Attention seeking at its finest! Surely you're not talking about Clinty Hype Felcher are you?

The Year of Magical Thinking? I would say she was crystal clear in that part but I was on the front row

Rebecca Storm and Anna Jane Casey - great. I know Fern Britton studied stage management, but does she have any acting credits at all? I mean, acting credits with a little more meat than a two-minute cameo as a television presenter? (She's done about half a dozen of those, according to IMDB). will she be able to do the accent?

I think the definition of stunt casting is when they pick somebody for attention's sake over much more suitable candidates e.g. Rihanna in Battleship or Madonna in that episode of Will & Grace. Michele Dotrice is just good casting. just thought of theaterical example - Louise Redknapp!

I imagine Josie will keep directing movies if 'Mary, Queen of Scots' does well. Lots of ADs have dipped their toes into directing films, Goold did True Story, Norris did Broken and Warchus directed Pride. Ed Hall while he hasn’t directed a film has directed multiple TV episodes It'd be good if she did have a hit with it then we'd have one more prolific female film director. A Mendes-style 'American Beauty' triumph would probably be too high an aim but I hope it's good. For Ronan and Robbie too who are just great.
I wonder if Warchus would have made more films post-Pride if he hadn't have got the Old Vic job.

Tonight I shall be going to see 'John' at The Nash. Note, I did not say a John. I'm not that kind of boy. Will be interested to know what you think, I'm going Saturday.

I'd discount Camelot as an option for now to be honest. When chatting with the lovely Mr Evans after the post-'Quiz' quiz, he said that the book of Camelot would need a lot of work before it would be good enough for a new staging. In fact, he was quite surprised that a lot of the shows we were suggesting for revival were so old, which makes me think that his inclination is towards more recent musicals. Which explains Caroline, or Change, of course. And of course Fiddler is very new! I meant going forward of course. Maybe he felt Sheffield was the right place for big classic revivals but Chichester has already had plenty so a new direction would be nice. Fiddler and Caroline were rather ghetto for them really.

Possibly for the film premiere and promotion for the Greatest Showman film. I meant at that show than why would he be in London generally. Also this was in October. Because he likes going to see things which are meant to be quite good? Like, um, the rest of us?
Hollywood actors are often chomping at the bit to go see the hot shows while they're over here, as all the Nicole Kidman spotters on here will attest to.

Vicky Featherstone said yesterday that she reversed her initial decision after an hour-long conversation with Caryl Churchill. This casts some doubt on Parsley's claim here that she changed her mind after heeding his advice. Gosh. Isn't that longer than some of the running times of her plays? I don't think Caryl had anything to do with it. My guess is that it would have left a gap in the schedule and the new plays by the man in HR and the woman in finance weren't ready yet. Haaaaa!! She said on Front Row (yes, I know!) that Caryl got a bit sweary during the chat.

WHAT. Well that's heartbreaking, having seen them at shows together over the years, I was reasonably convinced they were each other's plus ones. Perhaps they are. Maybe one of the plus ones was the plus one of the other plus one? Jonny B and his piece arrived first, both bearded but Jonny's is a bit scrappier, boyf's was fuller bodied. Slightly taller than he, had a lovely navy coat on. Steadied Jonny on the right thigh as they descended the steep Palladium Royal Circle steps (aww).
Hugh and red-headed, beardy companion arrived 5 or so minutes later.

At Dick Whittington tonight, Paula Wilcox, Hugh Skinner & (yes, @ryan) Jonathan Bailey! Jonny & Hugh were together with their respective, ahem, male plus ones.

Does anyone know when an announcement is going to be made about their forthcoming programme? As far as I can tell nothing is known after Summer and Smoke, which finishes on April 7th. I hope Robert Icke is going to come back and do something, though I understand he is in demand everywhere. After a few new plays in recent months we're surely due a couple of classic revivals? The announcement for new seasons (Donmar, also) usually comes halfway through the run of the penultimate production in the previous season, so we should hear something very soon.

Tinu Craig is directing the first Minerva play in the season, with an all-African cast. Between this and Natalie's play 2018 appears to be the year CFT discovered diversity (slightly tongue in cheek, before I spark any heated debate). I should hope so. Unless you have any clear evidence that sales of shoe polish increased in Chichester around the time they put on Caroline, or Change last year, you might find yourself in rather hot water for such spurious claims!
I think they're as guilty as being as white as a lot of mainstream theatre in London to be honest but it's good to see that's changing. I remember watching 'I Am Not Your Negro' last year and during the very deserved critique of the 1957 film adaptation, feeling reassured that they had cast a number of non-white actors in their 'The Pajama Game' there in 2013.

Yes, was just about to post that. They've obviously just left the old dates on their site.
From what I heard about the working relationship with Kimmings, the National won't be that eager to have her back in a hurry.

Tonight I shall be at the Nash for 'Network' where I shall be looking forward to seeing Michelle Dockery use all of her expressions from bored through to mildly surprised. She does a good mad bit near the end.
I am going to...
cut my toenails
&...
Hamilton on Thursday with Mrs Lovett's Meat Pie (RIP).

Natalie Abrahami is directing a new play in the Minerva. Not allowed to reveal details but it sounds pretty interesting. If it's the new Jessica Swale about dodgy adoptions, that's already been talked about somewhere.

Did anyone notice the Beeb managed to cheekily edit Ola Jordan out of the show's history with the Robbie Savage archive footage?
