I can recommend The Room if you haven’t seen it, maybe in a double-bill with Super Mario Bros.

My guilty pleasure is Big ’Big’, as in the multi-million grossing, Oscar-nominated, ‘73’ on Metacritic, beloved comedy?

I think the only Covid-usurped West End run which hasn’t rescheduled yet (bar Pillowman which we know is coming) is Laura Wade’s The Watsons. Do we think that could slot a run in somewhere? I’m assuming it would need to be done when Samuel West isn’t busy with All Creatures Great and Small. The other two shows drastically affected by covid were Sunday in the Park with George (now consigned to 'what might have been' wistfulness) and City of Angels which had literally just started. I am hoping Josie Rourke and Nica Burns can resurrect that. Forgot about Angels, but I had consigned Sunday to the bin pile too :-( Hopefully all the producers are reading this thread and thinking "oh yes, I'm meant to be putting that on at some point!"

Hello Dolly! was another COVID cancellation, I think. It's been mentioned that it's happening Summer 2024 at the Palladium, after Imelda is finished with The Crown.

Seriously? Seems like they've been promoting it for a while for something that's not out. I could have sworn our local cinema had tickets for it a couple of weeks ago. But then, I didn't pay too much attention as I'll probably leave it until it comes out free on something, maybe it was a rerelease of the DeVito one. Some cinemas had exclusive screenings to go alongside its premiere at the London Film Festival, that’s what you would have seen listed.

If ALW is involved, then maybe they are planning a run at the Gillian Lynne once The Lehman Trilogy finishes in May (if it doesn't extend). Can't see the Adelphi being free any time soon. The Gillian Lynne and the Adelphi would be far too big. I suspect ALW was at Tammy Faye in a personal capacity. The GL probably is eyed for My Neighbour Totoro if that ends up transferring. His Majesty’s? Oh yes, I went there.

They're both filming in the UK. She can do both. And she's now signed up for transformers... not a small shoot that one She’s just voice-acting for Transformers

There is a rather large gap currently in the spring before next to normal. I wonder what will go there At least two productions in between I expect. They just wanted the hype for N2N so announced it super early.

Once upon a time I would have loved to be a a sex party with Timothy Hutton. That time is long past. I'm definitely game for going to one with Jason Merrells and whoever John Hopkins is. And I'd expect Amanda Donohoe would be a right laugh too. The only thing with group sex is it's always quite difficult to know whose leg it is your sat on!* *which the poster captures perfectly, incidentally.

Veering back to the present however, Michelle Yeoh is definitely more famous than HW in Hollywood terms.
Bond Girl, Crouching Tiger, Oscar-bait like Memoirs of a Geisha, played Aung San Suu Kyi, box office hits (Crazy Rich Asians), Marvel & now one of the most successful independent films at the BO ever - Everything Everywhere All At Once, for which she will possibly get a lot of attention come Awards time.
So, yeah, she’s a thing.

Was supposed to see this the coming weekend but will no longer be able to due to the strike. I've managed to transfer my ticket to the last performance but could someone advise how long the show roughly is so I can look at train tickets? Many thanks 2hrs & 15min according to website

Some account member posted that it was being announced this week. Really don't know how I feel regarding Terry Gilliam. But love into the wood. Unless you tend to do a thorough background check on the views of the director of everything you ever go & see, I’d say don’t worry too much.

Saw this in Brighton last night and it was just all nice & cosy really.
Basically about as dramatic as dropping a soft mint in the gutter as you’re getting off the bus but I just couldn’t help really enjoying it.
Some performances better than others, Hayley Mills is super lovely. I love that she’s still got that inflection to her voice that she always had as a child. Very nostalgic.
Rula Lenska on the other hand could do with some less unwieldy dentures. And her hair looks like a red panda has gone into anaphylactic shock!
Marlene Sidaway great value, very reminiscent of her character in ‘Mum’ with Lesley Manville.
I wouldn’t recommend if you can’t handle anything too broad. Nice set & lighting too.

If he’s filming this while doing Guys and Dolls at the Bridge, he’s going to be knackered! He's doing Guys & Dolls? Why did I miss this? Think it was a barnaby scoop, JB (as Sky I’d presume) & Marisha W. as Adelaide.

Jonathan Bailey is a bit too classy for this now, I think*. He’ll be wanting to flex those meaty acting chops. They need a fresher twink off the block. *And don’t come for me like you did after I suggested Olivia Colman &/or Jodie Comer wouldn’t want to be in Mamma Mia 3. Well this aged badly .. haha Oh jeezus! I’ve got no recollection of saying that at all! In fact when this rumour started a week or so ago, I thought “aww, good for him”. What am I like?! A bit of a bitch, it seems. Thanks for pulling me up on this jacob, totally flattered that you’re stalking me on here!

The death of the RSC has been greatly exaggerated. Chichester and Theatr Clwyd will need new ADs although I assume in the case of Chichester, the 2023 season probably is already in the planning so whoever takes over won't be able to make their mark until late 2023 or 2024. DE leaves Chichester end of April so full 2023 season will be announced while he’s still in post. New AD will be announced early 2023.

Wouldn’t any one of those four names have needed to give notice on their current directorships though? It would be bad form to just jump ship so swiftly, wouldn’t it?

Saw this tonight in Brighton. Thought it was rather fabulous, some very interesting ideas in the casting. Probably mentioned earlier in the thread but not read it yet, soz.
Nice to have such a serious play at our Theatre Royal and you could tell the audience were pretty enraptured.
One thing my pal noticed though is if you have a glance at the trigger warnings signage dotted around the place, it spoils aspects of certain reveals. So do try to avoid reading unless you absolutely have to.

Did anybody on here see the original West End production in the ‘80’s?
Rosemary Harris, Maggie Steed, Jean Boht, Janine Duvitski, Stephanie Cole & Joely Richardson! V.classy.

The film is being screened at the London Film Festival next month for those that are interested (no idea when it’s on general release though). 17th February.

I am surprised Bros isn't at the LFF but perhaps it's because it only debuting in cinemas two weeks later. That usually doesn't make a difference to them, 'Banshees of whatever' is out in cinemas the week before Bros and that's in the fest.
