I know it is probably too early to say, but do you think that they are thinking of bringing this to the West End? I'm really interested in this. It seems like the sort of show I go for, and looks good from what I have seen on the SHOWBUSINESS: THE ROAD TO BROADWAY film. However, I think Chichester is a bit of a trek. It would take quite a while to travel there.

Finally booked tickets for this. Saw it at ENO and enjoyed it, but it wasn't without its faults. Going to see how this tour bears up.

I thought I'd asked this question previously, but can't find it anywhere in the thread...
For anyone who saw it in New York, what is the on-stage seating like? Worth the money? Trying to figure out whether to go for these, or a normal Stalls seat.

Yes, I couldn't get any tickets (despite being able to select certain dates), so must be sold out. It's a shame, as I really wanted to see it. Oh, well!

I would love to see this, but can't as it is on a Sunday night. It's a shame that they aren't doing a matinee. Well, this could lead to a production somewhere (like the Southwark Playhouse?)
Still waiting for BRIDGES more though!

Any chance of more tour dates for PEOPLE, PLACES AND THINGS do you think? I'm in two minds about seeing it without Gough, as her performance was astonishing. However, the play should stand up as it is extremely well-written.

Well, this wasn't perfect. I agree about the singing. It was indeed very 'wispy' and I longed for a bit more 'oomph'. None of the singing really wowed me. Saying that, it didn't really take me out of the world of the film like "Les Mis" did. The songs weren't great though. Some were very 'samey' and blended in to one another. Perhaps that was the point? I can't make up my mind whether the opening number was a waste of time, or integral in setting up the world of the film.
However, I loved it! It looked stunning, and there were some absolutely beautiful moments/sequences in it. The way it set up Mia and Seb's initial story was really clever. I also loved the moment in the observatory and the end sequence. I had chills!
Emma Stone was the star. She was magnetic, and I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
Go, and decide for yourself.

My Priority Booking email finally came through. Phew!
Are you just able to book online for this, or is there a number to actually phone to get tickets?

Has everyone who signed up for priority booking received an email yet? I signed up ages ago, but have had absolutely nothing in the way of an email so far. Getting slightly concerned!

Is there a list out there if the cinemas it will be shown at? Would like to go to this purely for Alan Menken's involvement.

I know there has been a little bit of discussion about this film on the HAMILTON thread, but thought that it deserved its own thread.
I'm just back from a screening, and absolutely ADORED it! I went purely due to Lin Manuel Miranda's involvement, and the songs are FANTASTIC! They develop plot and character in a way I have not seen in a Disney film before, whilst being very catchy and instantly memorable. Some were spine-tingling, and "How Far I'll Go" is a great "I Want" song, and so much better than "Let It Go". The best score I have heard from a Disney film by far!
The story is good, and clear throughout. There are several moments that pack such an emotional punch, so much so that I found myself with tears in my eyes several times. At one point, I was out-and-out sobbing! The film also looks visually stunning.
Just go - you won't regret it! I might see it again for a second time.

Thanks for the info.
I'm hoping to see Charlie Parker's YARDBIRD by English National Opera with Lawrence Brownlee. I'm a fan of Brownlee's voice, and he doesn't seem to sing over here much, so thought that I would take the opportunity to hear him live, whilst I could.

Is there seating opinions/seating plans (a la Theatremonkey) available for the Hackney Empire anywhere on-line?

I know this may be a silly question, but...
I have never booked theatre tickets for anything abroad before, but want to book some tickets for an opera at the Opers National de Paris, Badtille when the next part of the season goes on sale on Friday. How does this work? Are there extra charges with it being abroad?
Thanks in advance.

As a fan of Alfie Boe, I will be booking to see this. Yes, he is not the greatest actor in the world, and the role is more suited to a baritone, but I have heard it sung by a tenor, and he will sing the hell out of it. This may be absolute heresy, but I have also been a fan of Katherine Jenkins in the past. Her VIVA LA DIVA tour with Darcey Bussell years ago, was very enjoyable. I will reserve judgement until I have seen her. I have never seen CAROUSEL on stage before, and am very much looking forward to it.

Well, I saw this yesterday in Nottingham, and absolutely loved it! Yes, it was slightly cheesy (as one has come to expect), but they both sang fantastically! Alfie was flinging out high notes like nobody's business. I am a huge fan of both artists, so probably slightly biased, and have seen both of them multiple times on their own in concert, but it was an absolute joy to see them together, and there were more than a few spine tingling and electrifying moments.
5 stars!

Well, I absolutely ADORED this after seeing yesterday's matinee (19th November). The score is an absolute gem, and the production surrounding it was a good fit. The two performances, whilst not the best singing I have heard, were strong and winning.
A solid 4 stars.
Can I also add to the chorus of people saying how beautiful Samantha Barks looks! She really is very pretty. When she came out in the dress for "Goodbye Until Tomorrow", she absolutely took my breath away, and I couldn't help, but say "Wow" (a few people behind me obviously felt the same)!

I saw this film yesterday, and absolutely felt the need to post about it. "I, Daniel Blake" is an absolute masterpiece of cinema - heartbreaking and moving, but also funny. It has stayed with me long after the end credits rolled, and it appears that it affected others in the same way. At the end, people were reluctant to move from their seats, and I heard a few audibly sobbing.
Yes, you can see the film's ending coming within the first 10 minutes, but that isn't the point. It is how the characters get there that truly matters.
My first Ken Loach film, but definitely not my last. Just go and see it!

Is this worth a punt? I wouldn't say I''m a Bowie fan, but this looks interesting.
Is this a Jukebox musical or an original score?
