What's the new habit with announcing Fiyero apart from the other cast? I understood for Aaron as it was leaked and David so that Les Mis could announce that Bradley was taking over as Javert but this kind of makes no sense.
I'm a bit more excited to see him than I am David 🤷🏼♀️

I believe Jade Ewen has left quietly due to vocal nodules as the understudy Jasmine has been on consistently for a while. So I imagine Courntey Reed is there to replace Jade and get the ensemble/swings back to normal.

Courtney went off ill and swapped with Natalie for standing by in the building and I've been told Jaye'J had a nosebleed during Get Down, so as if Genesis wouldn't have been stressed enough during her song, one of her cast mates would have ran off bleeding. It's not like any of the girls are really off stage at all during the show to quietly go off with a nosebleed.

Natalie is on for tonight's show because after doing nine incredibly energetic shows for at least two different queens. Courtney is exhausted. So they were right to have her in the building.
Every Queen gets a show off each week legally, but due to this week having an extra show (school holidays?) They've all been given two. So Aimie took both hers on a two show day to get a whole day off. However I'm not sure how it works because Jaye'J (Aragon) has ended up doing all 10 shows this week due to everyone else being off. So maybe Aimie felt like she needed her shows off, whereas Jaye'J chose to not have her shows off because she feels perfectly fine?

Natalie has an ear infection (which means she can't do the show as the show requires in-ear monitors) and I believe today is Aimie's scheduled day off, this week had 10 shows of Six so each got two shows off opposed to one. However as both are fit and healthy they're in the building as standbys. (Natalie has been doing the show without her monitors but it's impractical)
All of the alternates cover all Six of the roles, like a swing and alternate for their first covers. The current situation is
Aragon - Grace, Courtney, Vicki Boleyn - Vicki, Grace, Courtney Seymour - Courtney, Grace, Vicki Cleves - Vicki, Courtney, Grace Howard - Grace, Vicki, Courtney Parr - Courtney, Vicki, Grace

I'm a young person (20) and pay for literally everything on card, however I don't have contactless. If I'm going somewhere on a bus I usually have to add 5 minutes onto my walk to the bus stop to get cash out, I don't like having cash on me, having more than £10 cash makes me feel very vulnerable. I use cash for buses, nights out and very little else. While I don't have contactless I do have Google pay set up on my phone for those tiny payments (I used to use this for the bus until I got a new phone which currently doesn't work)
I like the idea of a cashless system, however I know it's unrealistic for many years to come. As it stands my bank don't even issue contactless cards as standard.

The main cast costumes are the same, however I think due to the different arrangement of the alternates in Chicago they are getting brand new costumes and I do believe I heard somewhere that there are more costumes than the 9.5 we have seen in London (.5 Cause Vicki kind of has two costumes due to needing a jacket for Cleves but a different top for the other Queens). Also on the Instagram account @cstcostumeshop they have photos of all the fabric samples. It's actually quite interesting to look through.

Does anyone know anything about themed cocktails for this? There are Six, one based on each queen at £8 each. Which I didn't think was a bad price for a cocktail in central London. Each contains around 50ml of spirits. They also come out fairly close to colour of that Queens costume (when the alternates aren't on) Aragon - Gin and orange tonic Boleyn - Vodka, midori and pinapple Seymour - White rum and cola Cleves - Prosecco and rose syrup Howard - Gin and rose lemonade Parr- Bols blue, vodka and lemonade I've personally had the Parr and Howars and they were really nice. (All this info come from a photo I have on my phone because my mam didn't have her reading glasses)

Total agreement, while she is a despicable character she's also the best written and best acted character on television. I will be very upset if Lena Headey doesn't win an Emmy, of all of them she deserves it most for managing to be that convincingly awful.

Does anyone have any fairly priced seating advice for this? I've never been before and don't fancy spending nearly £200 on premium seats! All the lowest priced seats are behind pillars(?) which sounds a bit pointless for a theatre... I paid £25 for the front row the balcony, the edges of the centre block. However I would have rather spent my £25 on any other show.

If she takes her maternity leave soon as allow (before cast change) it could run out and allow her to return for a little while before terminating her contract at the 2020 cast change to go and look after her two small children.

They can't terminate Carina's contract due to her pregnancy, so if she's chosen to take another year to be on paid maternity leave (Which I would if I was her) then they need a replacement. Carina is pregnant and can't play Glinda (they're very fussy, if you know you're pregnant you're probably too pregnant for Glinda) and Maria is in rehearsals for a new job starting in 3 weeks. Also Kane Oliver Parry (now works in Sound at Wicked), left a comment on the offending Instagram video saying "So it's been announced she's standing by then".
So say hello to our new Standby for Glinda, Charli Baptie. I can only pray she grows on me a bit more than she did on tour. So much potential that just didn't work for me.
Edit: It's likely Carina will act as 3rd Cover/Standby Nessarose like she did during her first pregnancy, to fill the three months she needs to be at work. I know they're not having an issue with Nessaroses anymore but she needs to be there and Nessarose is her other option.

There’s suspicions that Charli Baptie (U/S Glinda on the UK/Ireland tour) is going to play Glinda in London? One of the girls from the wig department posted a video of her doing wigs - One was the shiz hair, and the other was an updo. The both had Charli’s name on and Glinda underneath. She did another wig but this time I couldn’t see what wig it was, though I did see Charli. It’s relatively recent, given the fact that Laura Pick (current S/B Elphaba) makes an appearance, and the wiggle also works on Jennie & Aimee’s ensemble wigs?! Anyone know if this is true or not?! Maria has a new job which means she can't play Glinda anymore, and while Carina is likely doing something in the building so she can get a second maternity leave. It won't be standing by for Glinda because she's pregnant. Therefore it probably makes sense Charli Baptie is taking the place of Maria as "Standby for Glinda (Maternity Cover)". Makes sense she had over 70 shows as Glinda on tour, will need minimal rehearsal time (slight staging changes and getting it back in her head after 3 months) and her costumes and wigs are still very accessible.

I saw this on Wednesday afternoon, I've never cried so much at a piece of musical theatre. I know it's not particularly sad in most parts and it's actually so brilliant at trying to be positive about the matter at hand but I was crying because I was just so moved. That performance will stick with me for such a long, long time. Every cast member is as great at the next. This needs to win the Olivier.

Dashed my hopes of Nikki Bentley making a triumphant return as Elphaba but exciting nonetheless. I suppose I'll be seeing this a few time now, anything to see Nikki in a show 😍

I'd imagine she can't return due the fact it's Glinda she would be playing and they don't like Glinda in any sort of stage of pregnancy due to the bubble. (The only reason she said so long during her forst pregnancy was to cover Nessarose, however they're fine for that this year) I'd imagine Maria will stay until July, as Carina's 'maternity cover'. They will both leave at cast change and a new standby will take over? Or Maria could get a year as just standby?

No idea if this goes here but I saw my University's production of Into The Woods yesterday and for a university that doesn't offer musical theatre training we have some serious talent. I was trying not to cry by the end, the favt they were able to perform so well in such an intimate space where you could see everyone's face. A little mindblowing, honestly bravo to all of them.

Very proud daughter today, my mam booked the tickets to see this in Sunderland without even being asked. Restricted view in the dress circle slips for £20 at a Saturday matinee.

I drink Nescafé Azera at home (buy two or three jars when it's on offer in Tesco because my student loan can't really afford nice coffee). However I'll drink black coffee from anywhere on campus, we have a starbucks (most popular), a coffee truck (cheapest) and multiple cafés that I think serve Ringtons? As long as I can put sugar in it and it has caffiene in I've stopped being fussy. However I must say I'm a fan of one of those sugary, milky monstrosities when I allow myself to get an expensive coffee once a week.

Has anyone done the rush yet? I want to do it but every time I go on it seems to be sold out, what are some tips for getting tickets or is it just luck? There's only 6 tickets available and from what I've seen they've gone to fangirl for the show everyday. All I can recommend is being ready at 10am.

I'm going to see this with my Mam on Thursday and even though I think I know the answer she wants to know if any of the "traditions" still happen. Rice throwing, fancy dress? I have no idea I'm just her 20 year old daughter asking.

This will be at Sunderland Empire sometime next spring/summer I do believe. (Confused between this and the Book of Mormon dates they were telling me about) A friend who works there was telling me to look out for it.

Saw this again last night (fourth time). Waylon Jacobs on for Burr, Stephenson Ardern-Sodje on for Laurens/Philip and one of Ash Hunter's last Hamilton shows. First time with the new cast.
While I think this show had the best combination of the male cast I've seen, the chemistry was spot on between all the members of the male principal cast and while I didn't personally warm to Waylon as Burr he worked incredibly well. I would love to see Sifiso again, especially because he is officially "lead". I'm sad Ash Hunter is leaving, for me he gives a better performance of Hamilton. Stephenson is amazing, he brings dimension to John and Philip which is difficult to do and I often find people get one or the other right.
However, whoever cast the Schuyler Sisters wants shot. I still cannot stand Rachelle in her role, but atleast with Christine and Rachel she was bearable. Along side Ava and Courtney I was less than impressed. They're both clearly talented but they don't bring half of what their original cast counterparts bring.
I think they've also changed uo the choreography a little since the last time, there was just little things missing.
DOM HARTLEY-HARRIS? New best thing about the show, if he has his mouth open be prepared to leave your jaw hanging open. The most rapturous applause of the night was after One Last Time and rightfully so.

To add/edit the muck ups. It wasn't the whole ensemble in TWAI and the Train Station scene. It was actually the stage manangment department in the swings costumes.
- Charlie Karlsen and Benjamin Yates shouting out "the War" during the first Shiz scene.
- During Witchhunters Georgia Rae Briggs wore one of the monkey beards and Charli Baptie performed the whole song with a cucumber.
While I completely agree the matinee was far too much on the riff side of things, she wouldn't have done that had it not been her last show. Nikki had actually gotten extremely good at sticking very close to the score on non-special occasions.
Amy just made me cry and cry and cry at the evening show. She's incredibly special in the role of Elphaba even if she's not my favourite.

It's Amy's scheduled show off, but unfortunately no green Goodwin unless Nikki and Amy W don't come to their last day at work.
