Saw Wednesday evening's show from a booking a while ago and then saw last night's show impulsively because it had been a while since I'd been a 'crazy Wicked fan' even just for the day.
Bex was amazing on Wednesday, for her 4th performance she was incredibly. A strong voice with gorgeous vibrato. I read a comment about her being like a "young Alice Fearn" and I have to agree. She has the fiery passion mixed with some softness. Also she's tiny and it's kind of adorable because the witch's hat almost swallows her whole. The rest of the cast are just becoming stronger, now feel endeared by Idriss as Boq as opposed to annoyed.
While I don't want to add to the rumour mill, I don't think a chest infection is accurate for Nikki because she gave one hell of a performance last night. Both vocally, physically and emotionally. She has come so far in fine-tuning her Elphaba since the early tour day. It makes me very happy to see.
Also if going in the next week or so, the cloakroom along with the back/Vauxhall Road cast board is out of order due to a leak. So I had a surprise cast yesterday as I couldn't get to Wilton Road entrance for people in my way.

Dayseated this morning, just cupcakes from Cutter and Squidge (they make all the cakes for Wicked's events). Nice thought of them to have a vegan option for someone for me who has a milk allergy. I must say it was a lovely cupcake and I even made it onto their instagram story 😂

Went to the Saturday matinee, which was the perfect way for me to say goodbye to this cast with all the alternates being present along with Millie and Maiya. Such a fun and energetic show. Definitely my best Six experience and if that was the last alternate show - I can only imagine how the show went last night.
I really hope this show has the longest future even if it means moving from the Arts and losing some of the magic.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought Shekinah was joining for the cast change? 🤔 And that she isn't there right now because she's been on the American Idiot tour? Crazy short contract with Six, if so. Will be great for them to have 5 extra Queens, for sure. She's replacing Grace as an alternate from my understanding, but just until October. I assume she's going on tour with Six or has something else planned and will be back at a later date 🤷🏼♀️

Shenikah McFarlane is only there until October, so the three girls listed above will replace Courtney, Vicki and Shenikah.
Hana - Seymour/Parr Cherelle - Boleyn/Cleves Zara - Aragon/Howard
I assume Shenikah is only there temporarily or will be a tour alternate just due to her short window.

I think they'll do fine with 4, that's the most people who have ever been off at once. Even though it isn't ideal, the longer the show runs the more options they have to ring up for emergency covers/standbys if they ever find themselves in a predicament again. 6 would be ideal but what with the fact the 4 band girls also take up dressing room space (they're also in full makeup and costume) they're going to be squeezing 14 people into the Arts tiny dressing rooms soon, I don't think they'd manage 16 if they're already squashed.

Both times I've wanted to go to the show through rush I've been able to (and one was a Saturday night), its not impossible but practicing the day before so you know the layout and having a strong internet connection are the best two things I can recommend. Also having friends help can actually take off a lot of the stress.

I'm going to keep those simple, I made it very clear in the tour thread I adore Nikki and Helen together. Helen always was just as close to a perfect Glinda as one could get. Despite being 6 months since Nikki played the role, 4 weeks of actual rehearsals took someone who was already an incredible Elphaba to someone who is a force on just her first show in the West End.
A few thoughts on our new Fiyero. He plays the most childish Fiyero ever. I can only describe as that one bratty but endearing only child in your class at school. Once he's had a chance to catch up with the fact his two leading ladies have already performed the show together for over a year with a (mediocre) different Fiyero, he will no doubt be a loved Fiyero. Alastair and Nikki might just have one of the best ALAYM I've ever heard, and I'm a huge critic of that song because it's my favourite in the show.
Natasha is the cutest Nessarose I've ever seen and while I haven't seen Carina yet, I think I will find myself wishing she wasn't just maternity cover.
Our favourite show about witches is in good hands for another year.

I bought a tier three ticket and was allowed to sit in the front two rows on either side at today's matinee. Stellar view, I absolutely cried my eyes out at the end. It could been executed even better in a better venue but they worked incredibly with what was given.

I’ve heard Waitress has been extended till Jan 4th. Didn’t think it would extend after that. Maybe the West End and Broadway productions closing (almost) simultaneously? (Almost because we don't have Sunday shows in West End)

Some friends and I walked past the Queen's at 3am after closing (after some cheeky drinks on top of the champagne) and they had already ripped out all of the seats in the dress circle.

I saw the show on Saturday night with Vicki as Cleves and Grace as Howard. Maiya hasn't been well much this week, with Courtney being on for Parr most of it and then Cicki being on for Parr on Friday (Which I saw, absolutely incredible). Maiya managed to come to work on Saturday night, purely because she had family in which she didn't want to disappoint but it was clear she probably should have been in bed somewhere, recovering. She's obviously tried to go back to work on Sunday and not been able to perform again and without Courtney to cover and Vicki and Grace already on the show had to be cancelled.
I did hear a rumour they were going to bring Sam Pauly (Chicago company) in to play Howard for the evening show because she's in London for Evita but her Visa didn't cover it so they've instead had to cancel.

What's the best way to find out which queens will be on on a specific performance in Aug? Check the alternates tweets? Has the Aug schedule been released yet? I am in London for a few days and I want to make sure that I catch certain queens but obviously the quicker I can buy tickets the better. If you scroll back on the alternate's twitters you can see any scheduled dates they might have for holidays, but the actual alternate shows aren't released. I know off the top off my head that Natalie Paris is off the show week beginning the 12th August, so Courtney is on all shows until the Sunday evening. Which should be Grace Mouat's last show in Six.

Vicki posted on her instagram about Collette joining her and Courntey for a few months and Collette is the new Dance Captain, meaning she's likely replacing Grace.
When Vicki and Courntey leave I can see them having a system of three alternates and a separate understudy (which Collette is being listed as) to act as an emergency/holiday cover.

The first time I saw Les Mis, the show started just shy of 45 minutes late (the point at which Equity require the cancellation of the show) because Johnny Purchase who was supposed to be playing Enjorlas that day has to very quickly re-learn Marius, a role which he hadn't covered or played in two years. Could you please explain that Equity rule a bit? Why there’s such a requirement? If a show hasn't started or restarted (in the case of a show stop) with in 45 minutes of the start time/stop time. It should be cancelled and all patrons refunded. It's just due making sure the actors and audience get home at a reasonable time as shows already finish late enough. Or in the case of what I saw it's to make sure there is a still a sufficient break between a matinee and evening show for the actors.

Not sure if this has already been posted somewhere but Ashley Roberts was on tonight. Some bits great, some not so much, but ultimately it seems like a pretty big miscast. A friend who was there confirmed Olivia Moore was on as Dawn. As well as Olivia herself on her Instagram 🤷🏼♀️

Just seen Maria Coyne is making her Anna debut tonight. Anyone there? Yes and she was just fantastic, absolutely incredible. So natural and not a bum note or a missed line. 🌟

someone on FB wrote Glinda would have been Zoe Doano, but then she got pregnant. She would have been amazing 😱 now i wonder who her replacement is Oh that would have been PERFECT. I'm happy she's having a child because that's also amazing but wow I would have adored that. She was gorgeous as Cosette.

I watched Aladdin today and got a lovely surprise when I saw Marisha in it. I didn't realise she made an appearance. Thank you for this! I was so sure I recognised her, couldn't think of where from and I didn't stay for the credits!

The original animated film is possibly my favourite thing of all time, and I don't think it's even about nostalgia because I've seemed to like it more and more as I get older.
I appreciated that Princess Jasmine is actually a character, the seeds were there in the animated filmed but I'm glad they decided to have her take a more active role. Also loved the lavish costumes and sets, everything was so colourful and bright. It also felt a little Bollywood and I'm glad they threw in a bit more culture. With Jasmine's development into an actual character I was glad with the tweaks for the ending. The new orchestrations for the songs gave me chills.
However, it wasn't the film I love, which I wasn't expecting it to be. I didn't love Aladdin's characterisation to me it felt like setting the Genie free came out of nowhere and was Jafar even a villain, he was bored and creepy not villainous. Didn't love the extra politics in there I can't lie.
It doesn't matter how many times I see this in any form, the animated film, the musical or this. I will always cry at the first chords of a A Whole New World, that magic carpet sequence is so special to me.

I found that satisfying, not incredible or mind blowing. I predicted everything that was going to happen at 04:30 am before I got up to watch it. {Spoiler - Click to show} I'm glad Daenerys got to "break the wheel", even if she isn't alive to see it. Which was the right thing. I'm still completely unsatisfied with Cersei's end, and was hoping she'd be alive under there for a proper ending. Once again though - 'The lone wolf dies but the pack survives.' The Starks have well and truly proved that. I can't be the only one worried now they've all going their separate way in the conclusion.

There's a long gap between Bath in February and Southampton in July 2020. Further UK dates to be announced, or is the tour going overseas? (If it's the latter and I've missed it, I apologise.) The Instagram story they posted said "UK Tour Part 1" and the video had "Further dates to be announced" Hoping for something up north, Edinburgh and Salford are too far for a casual trip to see a 75 minute musical.

{Spoiler - click to view} I refuse to believe that's how Cersei and Jaime's storyline ends. They have to just be hiding under that rubble for a better killing, like Arya was. I've always wanted to believe Cersei will be the last to die in the series. She's also my favourite character in the series and I would quite like her to have a proper ending.

I might be the only person who is overjoyed with excitement and this rumour and saw it coming an absolute mile off. She made it very clearly she would do what she could to play Elphaba again.

I would love it to be Laura Harrison, she was also in Legally Blonde and sang "The Wizard and I" at the recent Stephen Schwartz evening at Hope Mill Theatre. She's currently playing Magenta in the Rocky Horror tour but I don't know when that finishes? This would be perfect. Unfortunately not this year unless she leaves Rocky Horror soon because I know it has dates well into August and September. She's been someone I've wanted to see as Elphaba for a long while now.

This might just be worth the trip down, I've been in love with the cast recording for many years but it's just one of those musicals I didn't think I'd ever get to see so this is exciting for me. Hope it has a solid cast. This show comes in so many different forms however I'll have to be reminded which one of the "Pop Opera" is.

What's the new habit with announcing Fiyero apart from the other cast? I understood for Aaron as it was leaked and David so that Les Mis could announce that Bradley was taking over as Javert but this kind of makes no sense.
I'm a bit more excited to see him than I am David 🤷🏼♀️
