Good to hear that you're enjoying it. I read, and loved, the book several years ago. I hear that Channel 4 have picked up the rights to screen it later this month, so I'll definitely be tuning in.

Well the right one definitely went this week. Not enough time spent on runway, we only had a second of each of them, and I needed to see what Nina Bonita Brown Rodham Clinton wasn't wearing! I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of guest judge Jeffrey Bowyer Chapman too. Woof! For the full runway, YouTube is your friend Disappointed as I am about who went this week, I have to agree that given the challenge and the lip synch it was the right decision.

Does anyone else think that Aja's make-up resembles Divine David's, or is it just me??

Joan Hickson will probably always be the definitive Marple for me too, and I can't think of anyone who may even be able to come close. I preferred Julia over Geraldine but neither had the sweet, unassuming old lady with a cunning intellect down pat for me.
Poirot-wise we'll be getting two new ones in the near future - Kenneth Branagh in a film version of Murder on the Orient Express, and the BBC have announced that one of their future adaptations will be The ABC Murders, which will be strange to watch being so familiar with David Suchet's version, a tough act to follow.

I'm going to see this next Wednesday, and after some of these reviews I'm a bit more cautious, but still looking forward to it.

I'm really looking forward to this, just debating whether I will wait for TruTV to pick it up and air it or if I'm going to have to track it down some other way. Having seen Charlie Hides on numerous occasions I hope he does really well, I've only ever seen him perform as a character - mostly Kandi Kane or Laquisha Jonz, alongside Delia Smith and Ricki Lake, and he's always been excellent. It's going to be interesting to see how he does without being a character. It's always on youtube the day after, although they do eventually get taken down, so you have to be quick. Good to know, thank you!

According to a friend who was there, it's a different song. Thanks Alison. That's a shame, it's one of my favourites on the cast recording. I'll probably still go when it comes to Brighton though.

How badly did the ratings drop? Overnights were 6.25m for episode one, down to 5.31m for the second.

Saw it this afternoon, I enjoyed it but just not as much as I hoped I would. Really enjoyed the songs that were in it, could have done with more though, and I agree with others that the studio recorded numbers were missing something.
And despite Ryan trying his best to woo me with it, I still hate jazz.

interesting Robert Lyndsey gets a credit this week. Guess it depends on how big a star you are. Agreed, the most recognisable person performing not only gets name checked before he performs, he also gets an on screen caption. Wouldn't have hurt to have at least added a caption for all of them.

5. Cat Shoe Shuffle (Cheshire Cat, Cat Gang) Is this a replacement for Go With The Flow, or the same song with a different name?

I've noticed a couple; Avenue Q changed the line in It Sucks To Be Me where Christmas Eve worked from a Korean Deli to a Chinese restaurant, I believe. And a couple of changes in the currently running Last 5 Years (changes from the film at least), in A Summer in Ohio, the Target has been changed (to a Borders if memory serves) and weirdly they changed the casting of Russell Crowe to David Hasselhoff in Climbing Uphill. Those Last 5 Years changes aren't regional variations as such, the Borders one at least is just the original lyric (and I think it was Linda Blair before it was Crowe or Hasselhoff). Fair point! I wasn't aware of the Linda Blair lyric, I assume that's the one and the same who was in The Exorcist? What musical was she in?

This one is quite polarising isn't it! I saw it a couple of weeks ago, not really knowing what to expect and I really enjoyed it. General consensus about how great VHB is though, and I'd thoroughly agree with that.

Wow, I haven't heard of half of those! From the ones listed (and one of the two from Mr Wallacio), the only ones I am qualified to comment on I would rate as:
1) Waitress 2) School of Rock 3) The Color Purple 4) Mrs Henderson Presents 5) American Psycho

Doesn't look like there will be one, would've been announced by now. Shame as I really enjoyed last year's one so hears hoping they screen Hairspray Live instead! Looks like you will get your wish - early TV listings show Hairspray Live on ITV2, Friday 9th December from 8pm...

Thank you for the replies! Hopefully it will be tweaked to make it a bit more memorable if it does come to the West End.

So it looks like we're not getting this as a region 2 Blu-Ray? Humph.

I hope that this does appear at some point, I bought the cast recording and really like the music, and love the film that it is based on.
For those who saw it on Broadway, what was the problem with it?

Not hugely for me, I don't think. I have questioned myself after seeing a show and either loving or hating it and hearing other people's opposite opinion on it and wondering if I've misjudged it. The most recent example I can think of is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which I was really disappointed with but other people seemed to love, not enough to make me want to go back and reappraise it though.

If I were just to go for the five I am currently listening to most often, it's probably:
1. Colored Woman - Memphis 2. She Used To Be Mine - Waitress 3. I Can Do Better Than That - The Last Five Years 4. I Will Prevail - Wonderland 5. You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me - Burlesque
But if I were to choose an all time top five that would be completely different and would require a lot more thought!

I'm stealing this idea off a friend of mine, but completely agree with him - Death Becomes Her would make a great musical!
