Has anyone heard any talk of what Chichester is doing for its musical next year?

Apparently Crazy for You. Strange choice seeing as it’s done so often.

Yeah that surprises me although I wasn't a big fan of the regents Park production so keen to see a new version. Just hope it's more south Pacific than me and my girl

Just hope it's more south Pacific than me and my girl Yea the Regent’s Park one was pretty bad. I’d be happy if this is a proper A grade production. Word has it that it is the long rumoured Broadway revival helmed by Susan Stroman and they have decided to try out the production here.

I wish. Covid robbed UK audiences of what would have been such a timely revival of this brilliant Sondheim.

Charlie Stemp as Bobby Child, and Tom Edden as Bela Zangler. Was that common knowledge?

I said I wouldn't go to Chichester this year as its a real trek for me to do in a day. But now Charlie is in it I might have to reconsider. Maybe stay overnight.

Charlie Stemp as Bobby Child, and Tom Edden as Bela Zangler. Was that common knowledge? I don't think Charlie had even been announced as leaving Mary Poppins, so looks like another TB exclusive!

I think Poppins is hoping to limp through till the end of August to get as much of the school holiday crowd as possible, so I'd imagine Charlie will leave early (10th July is the current booking period) and then they'll do another...6 weeks?

Isn’t Charlie Stemp too young?
Not sure he’s suave enough for this role.
Still this is a very exciting prospect. Stroman revisiting the glorious show she staged years ago. Booking asap.

Let's hope for a London transfer. I loved the recentish Regents Park prouduction but when it transferred into town it sadly didn't last long.

This is surely planned to come into London. Just a thought - wouldn't the Gillian Lynne be perfect for a Chichester transfer to preserve the open staging!

Lots of people said that last year with South Pacific, but the Gillian Lynne just wasn't an option. I suspect that theatre is reserved now for ALW revivals.

As others have mentioned definately sounds like Charlie will be back at Mary Poppins as he has just posted on Insta about Chichester and says "whilst I'm away" and about the person playing Bert. So I read that as being he is returning.

Shame Assassins has not been rescheduled, was quite excited to see it. Any insight into why this might be?

It would be lovley to see something half decent in that theatre
