Hi All,
So I'm seeing All about Eve at an upcoming Matinee and I booked tickets then for Six that evening at 9pm.
I would nearly like to reschedule SIX for the Sunday but I booked through TheatreticketsDirect (Was given a voucher) but anyhow.
I would like to relax at a Champagne or Cava bar establishment both venues, where there isn't a formal dress code (early start traveling into london) and somewhere we could have some tapas style though doesn't have to be spanish small bites.
Is there anywhere you recommend for a chilled out couple of hours, not too loud, champagne or Cava and some small bites to eat while between shows?
In Berlin I could be found/fond of the Moet bar and food court at KaDawe Department store.
Is there anywhere chilled out to spend a couple of hours not in a typical boozer, no loud music playing, and no large groups?

Try Pix Pinchos - in either Soho or Carnaby, which tend to be quiet during the day. The one in Covent Garden is always rammed. If it's a weekday you can also get all you can eat for 15 quid - or you can just have a couple of bites if you prefer. Cocktails and cava and very relaxing - you just help yourself to the food you want from the counter and keep the sticks so they can add it up at the end.

Jamon Jamon on Charing Cross Road does decent tapas and wine. In terms of a proper champagne bar, the only one I can think of is in St Pancras station, and that is noisy.
In central London on a Saturday though, avoiding large groups is pretty much impossible...

I don't even know if the one in St Pancras really is a proper champagne bar - I've only ever really seen them in airports and Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush! |

Between shows for me is usually a cuppa tea in the theatre cafe and an Itsu/Leon/Eat etc. Maybe a cocktail or two at the Escapologist/Be At One if I'm with a friend, or if I'm really pushing the boat out - a Nandos. |

I know that that’s why I specifically said Tapas meaning traditional Spanish food and small bites something more fusion. There’s a bar in Dublin called Fade Street that does tapas but it’s not Spanish cuisine. |

There used to be a pub near me that advertised "English Tapas" which turned out to be small portions of egg and chips.

Oh god that reminds me of terrible even catering where they give you 'mini' versions of everything. Though I was entertained at my date to Wicked press night late last year doing his damn best to 'down' a 'mini' burger in one. |

Thanks Burly I was thinking something like that, it tends to be more relaxed and quieter than traditional bars. I like KaDaWe in Berlin which has a Moet bar/Food Court. People tend to stare when you're sitting in a traditional pub with ear plugs lol |

Honestly no 'notions' here, I'd be happy with a Ginger beer in Comptoms but it'll be a long day, early flight into Gatwick, train into London, check-in hotel, get to the theatre, All About Eve then somewhere quiet and relaxing for a few drinks before a late performance of Six. And Cava or Champagne hasn't all the sulphates Prosecco and isn't a knock it back drink either.

The Leopard bar in the Montague hotel near the British museum can be delightfully chilled and not over run by hoi polloi (thought they let me in, that ought to count against them). More of a cocktail bar, but champagne/cava should be on the menu. We had the bar more or less to ourselves between 4-6pm, probably fills up later and has live music from 7pm.
