After The Crown, what will our Oscar winner go for next? More movies? Have we lost her from the stage now or from cheap British telly?

Same as she did before.

I suspect she will have the freedom to whatever projects excite her - and that gives her the freedom to do small scale things when they appeal in combination with higher profile gigs. She has always taken an eclectic series of roles and I can't see that changing. She has a long career ahead of her - and it will be varied.

Certainly won't have lost her to Hollywood. She's very much a home body and doesn't care for all the glitz and glamour, and prefers to take jobs where she can go home to her kids at night.

I don't think much will change really. She may get more movie roles but I think they will be of the supporting variety rather than leads (don't forget that her role in The Favourite wasn't really a lead role) and she was never really a stage actor either so I doubt that will change much either. I think she loves the stuff that she does right now and will continue to do that. There may be a few projects built around her going forward but I really don't think the Oscar will change things that much.
And then there's the matter of when they give her that Damehood.

The next year or so will presumably mostly be filming The Crown, and then the choice will be hers after that I think. I doubt we're going to see her leaving London for LA though, she isn't a fan of the celebrity side of the job.

I wonder if we will ever see a revival of "The Audience" following her stint in The Crown. Would love to see her in something on stage having missed Mosquitos.

Have we lost her from the stage now or from cheap British telly? When they asked her about doing more theatre when she won the award for Mosquitoes (exactly a year before her Oscar) she said "oooh, no!" . I think she had to be coaxed to do Mosquitoes and the play felt very like it was shaped for her - long rehearsals and one of the best performances I've seen from her. I hope she does more.

Yes, I don't think she likes stage acting. She talked about having a form of stage fright rather a lot when the two Olivias were promoting the show.

Priorities though, first up must surely be to re-do her bit for the British Airways safety demo... It's going to frustrate me to no end with the "got three BAFTAs actually"... "got four BAFTAS, and a Golden Globe, oh and an Oscar... actually".

I'm going to have to watch my dvd's of 2012 now. One of her funniest performances.

Can we correct the surname spelling as it's Colman, not Coleman.
Olivia mentioned in the talks at Mosquitoes that her stage fright plus the theatre schedule of eight shows a week isn't to her liking since she has kids is why she's reluctant to do more theatre.

Likewise I don't think much will change. She may end up with more film offers- but no doubt she'd still favour British ones, as she's often said home/kids etc is what she likes. I think just having her pick of roles is enough really- she doesn't seem to be in it for the money, or the fame, so I'd imagine maybe just a lot more of the same!
As said above, she's tied to The Crown for another year at least and probably given the amount she works, has probably signed up to a few other things besides.

Yeah I think she’ll continue to pick stuff she just likes. I saw on Twitter that she did a kid’s audiobook that she didn’t really have time for by going in to record on her day off, just ‘cos she liked it so much.

She’s also the first guest of David Tennant’s podcast if anyone fancies some more Olivia cuteness

They have finished filming the third series and won't start again for probably about half a year. Also last year I think she was filming the Crown and something else simultaneously. As much as the Crown is about the Queen it's actually about more than just her and I would imagine that there'll be more of Charles once he's an adult so maybe not as much for her to do as you'd expect.

Whilst I agree I don’t expect much to change, I think it’s worth noting that the amount of new opportunities will take her in directions she possibly never even thought of before all of this. She has said recently that only in the last few years has she’s started getting the sort of roles she wants to do - but maybe now is the time to embrace the ones she never even thought possible?
I see her ending up a bit like Julie Walters in terms of career variety, and can see her becoming the token ‘go to woman’ when an elderly woman is required (when she gets to that time of life).
It’s so wonderful to look through her list of credits on wikipedia and see the variety of roles that upon reflection, do show a clearly level of progression. Even getting The Crown was a big deal, with it having such an international audience.
In terms of the stage though... are you even a real British actor if you haven’t given us a bit Shakespeare? Ha.

As far as I know they finished early Feb and won't restart till sometime in the summer, however maybe that won't end up being the case. I think that they aren't shooting back to back but the prep involved is probably continuous.

The Crown won't take up anywhere near as much time as you'd expect. I got the impression it was a long shoot - I've been seeing leaked photos for what seems like ages and it's only just finished filming. Maybe they were doing both series together. I haven't watched the other series - the subject really isn't my cup of tea - but I'll have to give this a go for the cast.

With regards to Shakespeare, she would be incredible as Beatrice - with the right Benedick (of course)

I looked up the original breakdowns for S3 and the shooting dates are listed as 2nd July - 28th Feb. I suppose they possibly may have wrapped earlier than expected. My friends who worked on the show certainly spent many weeks or months darting across the UK just for one episode.

I saw a picture on Twitter a little while ago of Josie Rourke with Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie on the set of Mary Queen of Scots. It was the last day of shooting for one of the ladies and the first day for the other, and I know that Mary and Elizabeth didn't spend *that* much time on screen together but it still seemed odd that one major player could be finished filming when there was still so much filming to go. Which is a needlessly long-winded way of saying I could easily believe that filming of The Crown could run up until 28th February but Queen Elizabeth herself could be finished well before then.

Especially if you consider that there were a couple of episodes of series 2 particularly where Her Maj was hardly in it.

That was what I was trying to explain but not very well! There are all sorts of things in the episodes, there could be episodes focused on other royals or just other things happening in them that doesn't involve her at all. As to if they filmed as far as today I don't know if that's the case but I know the wrap party was a few weeks ago. Maybe they've been doing some pickups in the last couple of weeks but you'd still expect filming to be wrapped up by the time the wrap party happens (ok I do know of cases where that hasn't been the case but it's usually been by a couple of days not weeks).

She'll get her pick of film projects and a large number of films are made in the UK, so she may have no need to relocate to LA. She was a TV and even a film actress before she started doing theatre roles. She will likely do a stage run again in due course but Broadway may beckon more than the West End.
She must be in line or at least an OBE or even a CBE. If Bennedict and Tom Hardy can get CBEs for their film work and the younger Sheridan Smith got an OBE a couple of years back. The Damehood may be a fair few years off but I could well seeing a minimum of an OBE being offered this year to her.
We don't know of course if she has been offered anything before and might have declined it.
